@RaphDeslandes I feel like this happens more in shounen and shoujo series. Maybe looking at seinen and josei may be better.
Not all characters are over 30, but Boogiepop Phantom, Monster, Haibane Renmei and Mushishi are some different styles of titles that came to mind.
@blackwellbooks@SidVina @UsmanMNawaz @ogblynz That's great! BookDepository was really the only viable option for buying books here. Although when looking at prices, in every single comparison I've made, Blackwell's was about 10 dollars more expensive. It is still better than nothing :/
@academic_exit This is really interesting. Thank you for sharing. Is this focused on the Global North? I have had a hard time finding similar options in the Global South.
@LifeAfterMyPhD This has already been mentioned, but i think it really depends on the market. Latin America does not have the same non-ac jobs and it can be impossible to get jobs abroad with no Visa.
@MushtaqBilalPhD Thank you! One thing I would suggest it to avold adding citations from Google Scholar results. In my experience, it was fast, but I ended up having to correct the database more (book chapters were always wrong). It is better to enter (if possible) each page and add it from there.
@hankgreen I understand your point, but I also think it warrants to clarify who exactly you are talking about. Quinoa may be a food only accessible to wealthy people in some areas of the US, but it is much more widely available in other countries.
@ashleydhow I eat cinnamon buns following the spiral, but i don''t do citations by hand. Still, I had to fix my overleaf bib file almost one by one since it didnt export well from Zotero. Does that count? :)
@AcademicChatter I don't listen to many podcasts. I get easily distracted. Still, I very much enjoyed @KillJamesBond. I think all the hosts are very entertaining and I like listening to their takes on each movie :)
@nisslbodies Yes. Although, I can't remember how old I was when I heard it. I don't think that story was very popular here when I was a child. I remember local folk stories better.
@joshrstanford Sounds very interesting. I normally write academic English. I have written some scicomm blogs, but they on the serious side. I'd love to expand to fiction.
@Pluvias_ I really like both designs, but i agree the second one seems more vibrant. One thing that jumps to me is that the eyes of the second design somehow look nicer. I am not sure why, but they look more alive, more alert somehow.
The visuals and news do not completely reflect the real magnitude. It is a huge disaster. 90% crops, livestock, and many lives are lost. People need shelter and food. Please consider donating if you can.
Please share.
@Angela_stienne Thank you for sharing. The explanation is very clear, concise, and useful. I was not aware of death cafes. Love the illustration. Looks like a graphic abstract.
@katiedimartin I noticed that too. A lot of people in the lab are into those hobbies. Maybe I am not a good academic, but I am not a fan. I love drawing and baking. I may give it another try to rock climbing, but from what i remember the times I tried, the experience was awful.
@jmlukins@AcademicChatter That is true, but some countries have much more restricted job markets. They might be more centralised and/or have less or worse paying positions. Sometimes is not a choice.
