Midnight cannula call 😩 On arrival requesting SHO had everything ready, including well sourced ultrasound and when asked if she’d done many US guided cannulas she said “None, but I’d like to” 💪 Don’t know who needs to hear this, but that’s how to request help with IV access 🙌

Night time C-section bliss - mum too shaky to feel happy holding baby, dad too scared he’s going to break baby if he touches her. Enter your friendly anaesthetist getting paid for baby cuddles! I love my job 😁

Not a lot of NHS positivity around at the moment. Need to remember what the good stuff is, and today my consultant reminded me what we all need to do - be a good egg. He absolutely had his trainee’s back, and wasn’t shy to formally mention this via email. Thanks boss!

Did my GIC. Had a jolly good time. Had repeatedly heard it was an awful course, but the faculty and fellow candidates quashed my preconceptions. Absolute pleasure, thanks QMC GIC faculty! Excited to book in some ICs now 😬

4 shifts into ICU on call and I’m grumpy already. Went in feeling fresh and enthusiastic and ready to engage!! Didn’t take long. Stop calling for silly things please. That is all.
