@Slimghost02@_JMS_7@formularacers_ Miami is one race away mate, let's not be dramatic. Even if Ferrari DNFs and Merc 1-2 tomorrow, Ferrari in good shape if can match performance Miami onwards
@brakeboosted@SrujanS719 Lol, it was autoracer, which is usually reliable
Any idea how else this can be achieved? I just can't even remotely see a plausible way this can be done through thermal expansion of components. The precision needed to expand only specific partsof solid internals seems impossible
@brakeboosted@SrujanS719 Hm I suppose. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. If they accomplish this through tiny "pockets" in the cylinders that get choked out at higher temps, the new wording is pretty damning where Merc may not want to risk. Itd be DQ worthy even if they pass the new 130Β° test
@brakeboosted@SrujanS719 I understand, but this similar tofuel flow meter cheating. Sure the compression ratio regs were ambiguous before, but now it clearly states you cannot exceed 16:1. Would Merc really blatantly continue running their engine at a higher ratio, just b/c they know they pass the tests?
@brakeboosted@SrujanS719 Would they not be outright cheating nonetheless in that scenario?
Even if they pass the test at 130Β°, the regs now clearly prohibit operation of an engine above the 16 compression ratio. Surely at that point Merc has to comply, or risk serious penalties, DQ etc?
