We’ve made the difficult decision to shut down Flow.

We had high hopes for creating a platform where people could use AI to trade better onchain, and made incredible progress towards that goal over the past 6 months.

However despite all our efforts to design more efficient and effective trading systems on Solana, we’ve simply not been able to become profitable in that time.

Between all the services we had to build from scratch and high cost of running each trade analysis, we’ve been running thousands in the red every month that we’ve been paying for out of pocket.

As a small team we have very limited funds, and we were unable to find a suitable investor despite several conversations to try and gain further runway when our costs started rapidly outstripping our income.

So we’ve made the hard choice of shutting things down. We’ve taken 2 snapshots of all wallets holding the Flow token, and will take one final one on August 31st. These will be kept in the event we are able to find a partner that allows us to relaunch at some point in the future.

While most of our live services will end this month, we will keep the website live through the end of August to allow any users with funds still on the platform to export their wallets and transfer them out.

We’ve loved building with you, and couldn’t ask for better supporters. We wish circumstances had allowed us to continue doing so for years to come.

Summer update!

We've got an updated model on the backend, Agent deployment is back, and there's a new Top Up system for Paper Trading.

With over 150,000 transactions processed by our AI Agents already, @FlowAgentApp has exceeded so many of our expectations. With all the new data Agents have been processing, we've also seen rapidly increasing API costs over the weeks - exceeding $10k/mo! This caused us to pause new Agent deployments for a period while we worked on reigning in costs.

Knowing that we have much more capability we want to implement, we've been hard at work training a custom AI model specifically on defi trading. Our end goal is higher trading performance at greatly reduced cost, as well as the potential for licensing Flow's Agents and trade processing via API to other applications and blockchains.

This is a huge endeavor, but one we know to be immensely valuable. In the meantime to help keep costs in control so we can continue building and delivering, we've implemented a Top Up system to defray the cost of Paper Trading processing.

Every new Agent comes with a built-in Paper Trading balance so you can gauge its performance and personality before Live Trading, and if you need more data you can top it up for ~$10 to run for another 2 weeks. With the addition of the Top Up system we've now re-enabled new Agent deployment!

Live Trading's API costs are already covered by the 1% transaction fee, so they don't require any top up to run. All Agents can be used for Live Trading regardless of whether they're actively paper trading.

If you've deployed an Agent that's seeing Live Trading usage, be sure to keep at least 0.01 SOL in the deployer wallet so Solana can process your cut as well. Unlike Ethereum-based chains, Solana requires a small amount of SOL to be kept in the wallet to allow program transactions to be run against it.

We firmly believe autonomous trading will be one of the largest transactors of onchain finance, and bringing personalized trading to everyone is at the heart of what we're creating. A number of you have reached out about partnerships, investing, development assistance, and even donations. The excitement is palpable, and we're responding as we have bandwidth. Our priorities remain building the best product first, and ensuring the long-term future of Flow by extension.

It's been just 9 weeks since we first unveiled Flow, and in that time we:
- Launched AI-powered trading chat with a personality-based custom Agent launchpad
- Built autonomous Agent trading - first on paper, then live onchain
- Added social integration with Twitter for Agent data and Creator verification
- Added Agent Versioning so you could iterate relentlessly for better profitability
- Launched MarketFlow, our in-house Realtime Market Intelligence system
- Introduced Variables so you could customize Agents with even greater precision
- And pushed hundreds of bug fixes, updates, and smaller features throughout!

We had a very busy but successful week!

We were able to identify and fix the issue with creator fees and sent manual back payments to those who had any missed.

Our next major feature has been scoped and starts development on Monday now that our maintenance tasks are completed.

To market before we’ve built a solid foundation would invite risk, so we're not doing so right now.

@AlphaSeeker21 Today we were able to scope out a potential solution that we hope to complete within a couple weeks. Not making any promises on timing, but barring any new hiccups we think we’ve mapped a pathway for success.

We're also digging into the issue with creators receiving fees from Agents. Rest assured we will get it resolved, and also retroactively pay out any that have been missed!

@starman_______ Let us look into this - revenue splits should definitely be happening so if they're not it's definitely a bug we need to correct.

Introduced some small updates today including cleaning up Twitter follows so they all follow the same format. No more double URLs messing with links!

It's also been very cool to see many Agents already customized with significant Variables changes - we're excited to see results!
