@coding_garden@syntaxfm@caddyserver That's a great tutorial! I was able to setup a small server from scratch within a day and I'm not a linux pro. Caddy is awesome! Do you have recommendations on how to backup everything or automate the setup of a vps?
@Alex26726249@fpspqr@TeslaBoomerMama Same for me. I bought the shares via comdirect at Tradegate and Frankfurt. I don't know the implications (US taxes?) if I "move" them to NASDAQ so I didn't take that step. It was too late anyway as well.
@ktosopl We're so prepared for the next pandemic. Our multi-function-scanner-printer thingy gave up and we had to replace it. And the new one has a FAX :-)
@leifbattermann Yup, exactly what we experienced. And, unfortunately, the planner takes the state of the database into account which means the queries on an almost empty dev-/test-database might get executed differently than the ones in production. Yay for testing in production 🙈
Gute Neuigkeiten. Meine Oma wurde letzte Woche geimpft! Yay, science! Sie und alle Mitbewohner des Altersheims haben die Impfung gut überstanden. Bis auf ein wenig Schmerzen im Arm keine Probleme. Haben auch nicht gehört, dass sie eine Pflegekraft nicht impfen lassen wollte.
@WiemZin Yay! I'm glad you like it here. It's there weather, isn't it? Jokes aside. I'm glad society changed. It used to be a big deal if people don't drink alcohol. In some areas it still is.
@shanselman I can only recommend this. Working for 4 days/week since two years and I'm more relaxed. And my back also likes sitting less in front of the computer. Although the sitting part might not be the only issue; working is (more stress, too much zoom/slack, unclear requirements, etc).
@lizthegrey@sophiebits Thanks! I'm not that good with python, but I really like their jupyter notebooks. Mine was a bit of a pain to assemble: println and https://t.co/LaHj0Lh6Go to create the tables :). I wonder how people do it all in their head. I needed lots of pictures.
Yay - solved all days of #adventofcode2020 using @scala_lang.
To be fair I sometimes peeked at the recordings of @lizthegrey and @PaulsonJonathan, because I didn't know how to tackle the problem or didn't understand what the _actual_ problem was :)
@lizthegrey@sophiebits Only found out quite late that the edges were unique. Wasn't obvious at first since I counted a match between two tiles twice when I flipped them both. I hashed the pattern at the edges to find matching pairs and the hash changes when you flip the image.
At one point used @sophiebits's solution to generate testdata for finding my bug :) So, thanks a lot for sharing your solutions for others to learn. I'm impressed by how fast you come up with a solution. On some problems I spent hours (esp. day20).
Just listened to @ASlavitt's interesting conversation with @karaswisher. Indeed great closing remarks by her! In German we would say: "you have spoken from my soul" :-)
