Yesterday was joy and dreaming while embodying the portrait. Co-Creating with some amazing youth was the most amazing experience. Appreciate these amazing young people who joined me and their amazing teacher @mrspencilstick empowering their leadership and letting me borrow them!
I had the distinguished honor of presenting @ The Future of Learning NV conference w/@NvstateED & @NVportrait ambassadors, alongside my students. Dreaming & putting into action the NV portrait— highlighting student voices & educator voices. We don’t have to—we get to. #NVSTOY24

"You have to have the capacity to understand talent and potential; and if you understand both and you don’t have narrow perceptions of what human beings can do, you can take flight in lots of ways."
- Ruth J. Simmons
Flying to Austin… this will be my second time in under 2 years. Headed to @SXSWEDU to lean in and learn as well as 🥁🥁🥁I’m a “speaker” during the Village Meet Up: Advocates for Neurodiversity! Stop by and connect!
@jerseycityjoan@drboycewatkins1 This is part of the problem! They aren’t wounded… they are in a system that was not designed for them. Many lower their expectations and use assessments and evaluations that aren’t normed for their context or created with cultural context to box them in!
@k8roulette2 I got my PhD for the exact same reason; out of spite of leaders who were unsupportive and compared me to other teachers telling me to teach more like them!
