IDK, I'm not saying anything groundbreaking in any direction. I guess I just wonder at the idea people intrinsically know these things or somehow have access to a level of awareness I just... know is not what they're operating with.

As a person whose political leanings are decidedly left, but who operates in academic environments that tend to be, uh, centrist and right of center, it's interesting to see people talk about politics and the political motivations of centrists and "apolitical" people and so on.

This makes busy work for managers who then can't get on with the business of managing their employees; they're force to micromanage and hyper-surveil instead of guide, mentor, and lead.

Which allows those with actual power to stranglehold resources and create fake scarcity.
