In 8A, I think Eddie’s avoidance of joy due to guilt makes him avoid Buck somewhat for the first few episodes. Once he starts seeking joy again, he’s excited to see Buck turn up at the end of 8.06.

@soopsiedaisies @colderbam allowing for more diversity in the types of stories that can be told. However, there definitely are cases, particularly where the fic is serious, where there’s tonal dissonance when everyone acts so insensitively about Eddie’s sexuality.

@multifandomsgal @buckdownbad In real life, firefighting isn’t an extremely dangerous job where you’re at risk of dying every day. Working in construction, logging, driving all day, are significantly more dangerous. Even if the emergencies are unrealistic, having no-one die over the course of 8 years isn’t.

People are pretty sure that Tim decided to do a retcon to make it true when he saw the theory & realised he could get some conflict from it
