@MSUKyleBrown That’s awesome! Depends on use for sure, we were just GR - EL and it was a gamble if we would even make it (because sometimes it didn’t) lol
Actually, Duren's real problem here is that he has 3 options
A) Hit wide open, cutting Duncan Robinson
B) Go up strong with a single defender
C) Pass it to wide open cutting Ausar after he gets tripled
He chooses
D) Wait til 3 rotate triple pump and get stuffed
This is Duren's real problem in this series.
Two at the level on Cade, his first read is always to Duren.
Mobley tags the roller, and that's an elite tag defender (DPOY). Ausar's man rotates to cut off the corner. Ausar is left open but can't space.
They need to set the pick higher up the floor and let Duren hit the corner on the short roll when Mobley comes over to tag OR build in a sequence for Duren to hit Ausar on a cut.
You can say "Duren just needs to go up strong and finish!" but like, that's Evan Mobley. his chances are not great. Also, Duren is a mechanism guy. He's played All-NBA FOR HIS ROLE.
@BrianJYoung1@_oliviacolombo_@DuncanSmithNBA No one is saying he’s the only reason, he’s a huge reason, he’s a minus on both ends of the floor and not even doing the least he could do which is effort and boards, we watch the game too not just the box score
@DetroitOwnsU@Connormuldowney@SlimSparty Is this guy that clearly just box score watching calling you a casual? Lmao Duren currently has a 10% unassisted field goal rate meaning 90% of his points essentially any substitute would score in the same scenario, he’s been awful stop bragging about him sometimes getting boards
I had to put this all in one video to make it even clearer — The NBA has an OKC Thunder problem.
The fans know it, broadcasters know it. THEY know they’re favored. When EVERYONE complains about ONE team, it’s serious. It’s not just SGA, he’s just the head of the snake.
I’m not a “blame the refs” type, never have been. I actually hate when players focus too much on that. But this just makes for an unbearable product.
The Thunder are EXTREMELY good. They don’t need extra help. They don’t need to be rewarded for their antics. A lot of it is an affront to the game. The physicality they play with needs to be allowed both ways or not at all.
This is all from one game, but it’s every night against them. It looks and feels blatant. This isn’t basketball. The NBA needs to fix this.

This is the #1 problem with the way the game is called now. SGA can use his arms to push the defender away, but as the defender tries to recover and reaches, he’s called for the foul. It’s a foul on SGA first but it’s (almost) never called vs. FTs on marginal contact.
