Veteran, Proud Union Member & Flight Attendant. đ˛đ˝ đşđ¸ Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO. Communications Chair for @TWULocal579. (He/Him)
In South Florida? Excited about pride? Join me on Sunday for âOut for Manleyâ, a fundraiser to elect Floridaâs first openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress. Link below.
Happy International Flight Attendants Day! As aviationâs first responders, Flight Attendants are a vital cornerstone of aviation safety. Today we recognize their distinct professionalism, exceptional service, and unwavering dedication.Â
Â
More than just the publicâs simplistic perception, Flight Attendants are masters of multi-tasking and highly trained. Our TWU Flight Attendants handle safety and security with attentiveness and  navigate unexpected situations with ease. Quick, capable, and always composed, you make it look much easier than it is.Â
Â
Thank you for all you do!
Great news for ALL workers @GoBrightline, where the TWU represents Onboard Attendants and Lead Attendants. The federal Railroad Retirement Board has determined all Brightline workers are covered by RRBâs retirement, sick and unemployment plans, which are far more beneficial than what Brightline and the state of Florida provide. @twusamuelsen Read the full decision here: https://t.co/xjs4BrbzyY,
Last month, I joined the TWU for the 2026 internship program. I met with lawmakers, paritpated in strategy conversations, and assisted with the TWU COPE Conference. A strong Union is focused advocacy/education but also preparing the next generation of leaders to step up & serve.
.@AFAUnitedMEC Flight Attendants voted 82% to ratify their new Contract, with 88.9% participating.
United Flight Attendants will receive a 31% average wage increase and boarding pay this summer, and many other improvements. https://t.co/QkoUNl3LXd
This week, I joined over 150 TWU Members in our nations capital for the 2026 TWU Legislative and COPE Conference. Our ability to engage with our elected leaders helps advance the priorities of our Members and uplift the labor movement as a whole.
Shame! A Democratic Party Committee Chair and elected officials in Ohio are treating blue-collar transit workers in Akron like garbage, attacking their health benefits and demanding Zero Percent wage increases. Whereâs the outrage from Democratic Leaders? @TheDemocrats@OHDems@ohioaflcio@SherrodBrown
Today marks the beginning of Asian-American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. AAPI communities are far-reaching and incredibly diverse, with origins spanning from East Asia to the Pacific Islands. AAPI Heritage Month affirms that these communitiesâ stories are essential to the American narrative, celebrating their resilience and recognizing their invaluable contributions to our nation.
A Filipino Proverb says, "matibay ang walis, palibhasa'y nakabigkis,â which translates to "a broom is sturdy because its strands are tightly bound." In other words, Unity is Strength.
AAPI labor leaders have always been at the forefront of building solidarity among workers across communities and building unity to create big change. The TWU proudly celebrates AAPI Heritage Month. May we all continue to recognize that diversity strengthens our Union.
2 Democratic States have redrawn, both with a mandate from the people.
5 Republicans States (soon to be 6) have redrawn without a single person getting a vote.
Both sides are not the same.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has released a draft congressional map ahead of the state's special redistricting session.
Compared to the current map (left), the new map (right) would eliminate as many as 4 Democratic representatives - 2 in central Florida and 2 in south Florida.
. @REMSAHealth flight nurses and flight paramedics in Nevada and California voted overwhelmingly to join the TWU today.
âThe 165,000-member-strong TWU will now fully engage to help them secure a first contract that improves their lives and livelihoods.â -@TwuSamuelsen
New Senate Bill would extend No Tax on Overtime to all transport workers. "80,000 TWU members are currently ineligible for the overtime earnings tax break and the TWU will keep fighting this disparity. Pro-worker lawmakers are stepping up for transport workers." @TwuSamuelsen
Last week I was invited to join labor leaders from around central Florida at @MaxwellFrostFLâs Labor Leader meet & greet. Connecting with local leaders helps strengthen our advocacy and the labor movement as a whole.
What this @GoBrightline huckster doesnât tell @60Minutes is the companyâs failed business plan in Florida includes wasting beaucoup đ°đ° in a vile effort to silence its workers and bust their union @transportworker . And its safety record is a horror show. @TwuSamuelsen
. @GoBrightline union-busting lawsuit tossed by federal judge
âThe railroadâs multi-year attempt to silence its workers, and deny them the right to negotiate for fair wages and benefits, has been nothing short of shameful.â - @TwuSamuelsen#UnionStrong

Iâve written and deleted this a few times. It feels unreal. Iâm heartbroken by the news and holding her loved ones in my prayers. Rest easy @NMetayerBowen.
A federal judge dismissed a Brightline railroad lawsuit that, if successful, would have invalidated workers' successful vote to unionize.
âThis is a huge victory for the workers and the TWU,â @TwuSamuelsen said. âBrightline should finally realize it has reached the end of the line. The railroadâs multi-year attempt to silence its workers and deny them the right to negotiate for fair wages and benefits, has been nothing short of shameful."
