“At its core ‘Nice To Meet You Again,’ a track that proves the album’s central idea- that identity is fluid, and each chapter introduces a different version of yourself”
"'Nice To Meet You Again,' is one of the album’s highlights."
And before people doom over the interpretation of “The Climb” in that article, remember that it’s the journalist’s interpretation of the song based on what she heard from both Finn and the track itself. Finn’s own words are the parts in quotation marks.
One thing I did take note of, though, is that she described the song as having “angst.”
Also notice that Finn’s next direct quote is about his writing style, which mirrors what he’s previously said about ILYF and the Taylor/Kanye reference.
To me, “The Climb” seems comedic in its title, not necessarily in its lyrics. I think the journalist included it as an example of his humorous writing style, even if I personally interpret it a little differently.
It actually reminds me of this “Objection” article, where the writer interpreted the song as:
“Wolfhard sings about losing yourself to another person, being so infatuated that you’re consumed with thoughts of the one you love.”
Yet the only story Finn himself gave us about that song was… meeting a friend at a bar.
