These projects generated no revenue to $ATOM. But let’s be honest about WHY that matters - and why it doesn’t.

@tokifinance , @Sagaxyz__ , Mars, @noble_xyz - these weren’t supposed to generate revenue to $ATOM in the first place. They were built on the “@cosmos vision” where:
>Chains are sovereign
>ATOM is “the hub” for security/interoperability
>Value accrual happens through… unclear mechanisms

So pointing out they generated no revenue to ATOM is like saying “water is wet.”

The actual question is: Why did #Cosmos spend 5+ years building an ecosystem where the native token captures ZERO value from ecosystem success?

Compare to:
∙#Ethereum: Every L2, every dapp, every transaction → $ETH burns
∙#Solana: Every transaction → $SOL burns
∙Even #BSC: Every trade → $BNB burns

Cosmos: Ecosystem grows → $ATOM holders get… “alignment” and “interoperability”?

Here’s what nobody wants to admit:
These projects failing ISN’T bad for ATOM. These projects succeeding WASN’T good for $ATOM either.

The problem was never whether Cosmos projects succeed or fail. The problem was that Cosmos Hub designed itself into irrelevance from day one.

When your entire value proposition is “neutral infrastructure” and “sovereignty,” you’re explicitly saying “we don’t capture value.”

The brutal truth:
>If Mars had 100x’d → ATOM gets nothing
>If Saga had billions in volume → ATOM gets nothing
>If TOKI became the EVM of choice → ATOM gets nothing

So why would #ATOM holders care about ecosystem success?

This is why the pivot to “ATOM as money” and institutional infrastructure makes sense - it’s finally admitting that the original model was broken.

But instead of celebrating these failures as validation that the old model needed to die, the community is treating them as tragedies.

They’re not tragedies. They’re expensive lessons that Cosmos should have learned years ago:
Sovereignty without value capture = building someone else’s empire on your infrastructure for free.

Reasons why.

In 2017, the Interchain Foundation was established with an endowment of $17M, consisting of 5,000 $BTC and 240,000 $ETH. To date, 88% of these tokens have been divested.

Remember that specific terms and conditions were mutually agreed upon with ICO contributors. These funds were raised on the predicate and explicit promise that @interchain_io would maintain a “dominating” focus on and support for the “#Cosmos project,” and the "Cosmos network." A transaction that offers a discount on $ATOM means homogenous and unwavering support for $ATOM.

What is more synonymous with the Cosmos project, Cosmos network, and ATOM than the #CosmosHub?

We have seen the Hub’s intrinsic importance judging from the growing number of creative marauders to “merge” with it.

In 2019, the ICF received 10% allocation of Genesis ATOM, fortifying its financial standing and ensuring 10+ years of financial stability.

Fast forward to 2023 — a Swiss foundation designed albeit as one of indefinite duration, is now accelerating its transformation as one of a spend-down limited-duration entity. Adding to its certain, and suddenly imminent ending, a revisionist effort is underway to censor funds exclusively towards what it considers the “most relevant” initiatives. In other words, their most relevant friends.

The Foundation Council doesn’t get to assert what is most relevant 7 years into “stewardship.”

The foundation’s mission and its self-evident priorities were enshrined on 04/2017 when their papers were registered with the Swiss register.

One can argue — the hub is a direct manifestation of, and the most relevant applied expression of “the most relevant tech stack.” Funding the hub is not a choice. It’s the ICF’s job to maintain it so long as they have an endowment to exist.

$5.6M also sounds like funding for a makeover or an overhaul. Unreasonable.

All we need is maintenance.

The proposition to draw 20% of the Community Pool (CP) should be regarded as an extraordinary measure and must be reserved exclusively for an extenuating event.

As it stands, this proposal appears to engineer a departure from the core mandate. Swiss law prohibits them from doing this, btw. Changing purpose is the founder’s prerogative, or can only be done in extreme financial distress.

Supporting this proposal can translate into unwarranted and unbridled creativity in "strategic" allocations of what remains in the treasury without officially effecting changes to its charter. Sneaky.

Please contemplate the ramifications of what this vote means. Voting yes risks aligning with their discretionary abandonment.

They say they're applying "hyperfocus." In truth, their pretense of focus is to rationalize the opposite.

In view of their ongoing dereliction of reasonable transparency standards, we should collectively adopt firm cynicism.

Vote NO on #839.

My stance against Proposal #893 should not be misconstrued as a rejection of their valuable contributions. Rather, it’s a principled opposition to manufacturing relevance to do whatever the hell they wanna do.

ICF — do what you were made to do.
Be faithful to your given purpose.
Fund the hub.
Keep it minimal.
And open your books, please.
