Dear Young Nigerians,

One lesson from the 2023 elections, particularly in Lagos, should never be forgotten.

In the period following the presidential election and leading up to the governorship election, we witnessed a troubling shift in public discourse. Conversations that should have focused on competence, governance, development, and the future of our nation were gradually diverted towards tribal sentiments, ethnic divisions, and unnecessary suspicion among citizens.

Many sincere and well-meaning Nigerians participated in these conversations without realising that they were being drawn into narratives carefully designed by others.

Throughout history, whenever politicians find it difficult to compete on ideas, performance, character, or vision, some resort to exploiting the fault lines of ethnicity, religion, and identity. Their calculation is simple: a divided people are easier to manipulate than a united people.

Today, I see similar efforts emerging again, sometimes in more subtle and sophisticated ways. Narratives are planted, amplified, and circulated, often by individuals who genuinely believe they are defending a worthy cause, without recognizing the broader agenda behind such campaigns.

Let me state clearly that Pastor Enoch Adeboye remains one of the foremost fathers of faith in our nation. For decades, he has consistently preached the virtues of peace, prayer, love, reconciliation, and national unity. Even when faced with provocation, his response has always reflected humility, restraint, wisdom, and grace.

At 84 years of age, it would be unfair for young and able-bodied Nigerians to transfer to him responsibilities that properly belong to them. The task of building a better Nigeria rests primarily on the shoulders of the younger generation. It is their duty to lead the conversations, champion the reforms, and drive the positive change our nation urgently requires.

We must be careful not to become instruments in the hands of those who secretly nurture division while publicly preaching unity. In most cases, their target is not the individual being attacked; instead, it is the person who is attacking. Their real objective is to weaken the bonds that hold us together as one people and one nation.

I therefore urge all young Nigerians: do not allow anyone to recruit you into hatred. Do not allow anyone to weaponise your ethnicity, your faith, or your admiration for respected leaders.

Question every narrative. Verify every claim. Follow the facts. Resist manipulation.

The Nigeria of our dreams can only be built by citizens who refuse to be divided, who choose unity over hatred, and who place our collective future above narrow interests.

My brother came yesterday to get a phone I got for him, he left and boarded a public bus, while they got to this area: The underpass bridge shortly before 7 and 8 busstop, ajao, lagos, your men were under that bridge, pull the bus over, picked 3 boys out and my brother was one of them. They searched him and asked where he got the phone from, it was a brandnew phone in box. He said his sister gave him, they asked for receipts, i sent the receipts to him via whatsapp, they still refuse to let him go.
I asked them for what purpose.
They said they want to know exactly where the phone is coming from.....
The receipts has all the necessary informations they needed and they can call Amazon if they want to investigate inwhich I know they were just being criminal themselves.
To make the harassment worse, they told him to go print the receipts out...
How is that their business? Just curious? Also, why stereotype against an innocent boy on a public bus? Even after showing evidence of payment why keep him stranded?
Now, my husband said they want bribe or we have to beg them. Is this how you protect your citizen? Is this how to do your jobs as law enforcers? I am as shocked as I could be. 2 of them was cocking their guns when they saw us, my husband insisted I dont get out of the car. Are your men out on the street to kill people from the diaspora? Because cocking a gun when approaching unarmed citizen is a criminal act on it's own.

Fellow Chelsea fans, it is time to tell ourselves the truth.

Yes, Arsenal cannot boast of the glittering European cabinet that Chelsea can still point to with pride. They’ve never even participated in the FIFA World Cup and they’ve not won the premier league since 2003.

Yet right now, as of February 2026, Arsenal are simply the better team. It's not close.

Mikel Arteta has been in place since December 2019, more than six years of continuity that has allowed him to embed his philosophy, recruit players who fit his vision, and oversee steady, tangible progression season after season. The Gunners have transformed from a mid-table embarrassment (linto consistent title challengers. They've finished second in the Premier League for three straight seasons, racked up points totals that would have won the league in many recent years, and built a squad blending experience with youthful dynamism. The core, players like Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Gabriel, has grown together under the same manager, fostering the kind of cohesion that wins titles.

Chelsea, by contrast, remain a collection of immense individual talent held back by structural chaos. The club has burned through managers at a bewildering rate since the 2019-20 season: Frank Lampard (initial stint), Thomas Tuchel (who delivered the 2021 Champions League miracle), Graham Potter, Lampard again (brief interim), Mauricio Pochettino, Enzo Maresca, and now Liam Rosenior after a short caretaker spell under Calum McFarlane. That's seven or eight appointments in roughly six years.

No project can truly take root when the head coach changes every 12-18 months. Yes, the hire-and-fire model delivered trophies under Roman Abramovich, including multiple Premier Leagues and that glorious 2021 Champions League. But in the long term, it has eroded stability. Since I first fell in love with the badge over 20 years ago, I've never seen a manager reach a third full season without the axe falling, usually midway through the second. It's become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The 2022 sale to the Boehly-Clearlake consortium only deepened the reset. New owners learning on the job, a scattergun recruitment strategy focused on youth with eye-watering spending and a lingering sense that the club is still searching for a coherent identity.

The truth is Arsenal have reached the stage where silverware is the reasonable expectation. They've built the platform. Chelsea are still laying foundations, or rebuilding them evrry summer.

Yesterday's match approach deserved credit: measured, disciplined, refusing to chase ghosts. And I have learnt to be less reactionary, you win some, you lose some and move on. The players are getting paid, I’m not.
