NIMC SETS FOR NATIONWIDE WARD-LEVEL NIN ENROLLMENT INITIATIVE

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is set to commence ward-level enrolment for the National Identification Number across the country.

In a statement, the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, says the exercise begins next week in line with the presidential directive to take NIN registration to the grassroots.

The statement explains that the enrolment is free of charge and is aimed at registering all Nigerians and legal residents, including children, into the National Identity Database.

NIMC notes that the initiative is designed to decentralise services, improve accessibility, and reduce the burden of travel for citizens seeking registration.

The statement adds that ward enrolment schedules are available on its website, while members of the public can also contact its toll-free line for further enquiries.

This milestone moves the project firmly from planning to delivery, and more importantly, reinforces confidence in Nigeria’s renewable energy market.

Behind every financial close is months of hard work, aligning technical designs, environmental and social safeguards, commercial agreements, legal protections, and financial models to ensure projects are bankable, sustainable, and resilient. When all conditions are met and capital is committed, it sends a powerful signal that the project is real, viable, and ready to deliver impact.

What excites me most is what this represents for the sector as a whole. Through DARES, we are seeing growing interest from the banking and finance community in backing renewable energy at scale. We’ve engaged institutions such as Stanbic IBTC, Zenith Bank, InfraCredit, FCMB, Lotus Bank, Bank of Africa, and Jaiz Bank, to mention a few, all helping unlock local currency financing and reduce long-term risk for developers.
