@thecableng This is totally unacceptable! Violence against women is never justified. We are in a situation where domestic violence had soared due to COVID lockdown. Countries round the world are working to protect women. This is shameful! @UN_Women@UN@OulimataSarr@unwomenafrica
I also want us, women - to change our economic behaviors in key ways. One idea: know your worth, use your voice, ask for more or build your own table. You don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate. #TellThemRunYouYourCoins#TakeUpSpace#WeMatter
Infact, this is super ironic because we still have a good number of men who use money as a weapon against their women...!! That one is NOT a myth! #WEMatter @ahiveco
All of it including business financing, mentorship, sponsorship etc... We all need different things depending on the season of life we are in and its important to have alllll available! :) #WEMatter @ahiveco
The Covid-19 “WishList”: What do women need to help them at this moment? (E.g. Savings plans, savings collectives, cash transfers, upskilling, etc.)
#WEMatter
In Nigeria for instance, that will mean empowering women to build better livelihoods, earn more income, and create businesses that provide jobs.
Because whatever else you think, empowering more than half the population IS economically beneficial #WEMatter
Venice has been sinking for centuries but Venice isn’t sunk.
Egypt has been heating for decades but Cairo is still here.
Europe has been dying for years but Europe isn’t dead.
& yes, Nigeria has been stumbling forever BUT Nigeria is just starting.
We are not going anywhere.
