๐จAlfred "Alfie" Ndyenge Welcomes Appointment to Revive Player Welfare in Namibia announced at the recently held, General FIFPRO AFRICA GENERAL ASSEMBLY HELD IN NAIROBI KENYA,
Ndyenge said,
I am deeply honored and humbled by the confidence shown in me by FIFPRO Africa New member development committee , to help champion and revive player welfare initiatives in Namibia.
Football players are the heartbeat of our game. Throughout my career as a professional footballer, I experienced both the opportunities and challenges that players face on and off the field. This appointment presents an opportunity to ensure that Namibian footballers have a stronger voice, better representation, and access to support systems that protect their rights and welfare.
My vision is to work closely with all stakeholders, including current and former players, clubs, football administrators, sponsors, and international partners, to build a sustainable player welfare structure that addresses key areas such as contractual protection, career development, education, health and wellness, financial literacy, and post-career opportunities.
Namibia has produced exceptional football talent over the years. It is now time to create an environment where players can thrive professionally while being adequately protected throughout their careers and beyond.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to FIFPRO Africa leadership for their trust and support. Together, we will work tirelessly to strengthen the welfare and representation of players in Namibia and contribute positively to the growth of football across the country.
This is not just about players; it is about building a stronger future for Namibian football.
Ndyenge will be tasked to set up an interim committee that will be responsible to compact and set up the framework of the Namibian context to facilitate the dual process of registration and office set up by FIFPRO standards assisted by FIFPRO AFRICA NEW MEMBER COMMITTEE.

๐๏ธMariental SC goalkeeper Chrisovan Gariseb talks about how they lost the league title to Young Brazilians on the final day by 1 point.
โข It was one of those games where, if you donโt take your chances, you end up getting punished and losing the game. We were in great form throughout the entire season and almost went unbeaten. At the end of the day, itโs football. The saddest part is that people will only remember the team that won the league and not the great football we played.
โข Personally, I had a great season. This has to go down as the best season of my career. Keeping that number of clean sheets without having a goalkeeper coach was a huge achievement for me. It has been a learning season, and I would like to thank the coaches, management, and chairman for believing in me and giving me the opportunity throughout the season.
โข Next season, I want to play in the Premier League and continue the great form I showed in the First Division. For now, itโs about trusting Godโs plan and keeping faith in Him.
The 24-year-old Chrisovan Gariseb, better known by his nickname Chris Cribo, had an incredible season, keeping 13 clean sheets in 18 games conceding 6 goals for Mariental Sports Club
Born and raised in Gobabis, where he attended Gobabis Primary School, Gariseb started playing football in local kasi tournaments and for his school team before dropping out of school due to family challenges.
In 2023, he moved to Windhoek and joined NUST FC in the Khomas Second Division, helping the club win the league title before falling short in the 1st division promotion playoffs.
He later joined Orlando Pirates Namibia, where he spent two seasons. During his second season, he made four appearances before suffering a serious injury that sidelined him for the entire season. The club was eventually relegated from the Premier League.
After making a full recovery, Gariseb attended trials with several Premier League clubs but was unsuccessful in securing a contract. He then tried Mariental Sports Club, got signed and enjoyed an outstanding season

Namibia Sports Commission wrote to the NFA today that if they donโt respond to their 3rd letter by tomorrow, they will take action.
They sent a letter 20 January and 15 March, but the NFA never responded.
It is regarding the appointment of Mr Lourence Kandundu by the NFA, which goes against the Sports Commissionโs rules since heโs a local authority councillor.
โSection 28 empowers the Commission to take appropriate enforcement action, which may include suspension or withdrawal of recognition of the NFA as a national sport body," the Sports Commission wrote.
