It’s been ten years since my husband walked out because my cancer “wasn’t what he signed up for.” While fighting for my life with two little girls, I lost our home, our belongings, and discovered he was having an affair with my best friend. Rock bottom. Medical bills, no paid leave, no family support...just fear and silence. I truly didn’t know if I’d survive, but I knew I had to try.

This birthday weekend, I’ve reflected deeply, and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. We made it. My girls are now incredible young women in college. I paid off his gambling debts, my medical bills, and I’ve bought two homes. I worked three, sometimes four, jobs to rebuild. Grit, private tears, and a reliable alarm clock got me up every morning. Prayer, faith, and love helped me sleep every night.
