🚨 BREAKING: BITCOIN REACTS TO TRUMP’S RUSSIA–UKRAINE CEASEFIRE ANNOUNCEMENT.
But there’s a critical detail the market might be overlooking.
🇺🇸 President Donald Trump announced an immediate ceasefire targeting energy infrastructure in the Russia–Ukraine war.
🇺🇦 Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed willingness to cooperate, provided Russia reciprocates.
🇷🇺 However, Russia has not officially confirmed the agreement, and Ukraine reports that attacks on its energy infrastructure are continuing.
📈 WHY DOES THIS MATTER FOR bitcoin:native?
The connection is primarily macroeconomic:
1️⃣ ENERGY PRICES: A credible ceasefire could reduce geopolitical pressure on oil and natural gas markets, potentially easing inflation expectations.
2️⃣ MONETARY POLICY: Lower inflationary pressure could give the Federal Reserve more flexibility on interest rates, potentially improving liquidity conditions.
3️⃣ RISK APPETITE: Reduced geopolitical uncertainty could encourage investors to increase exposure to risk assets, including Bitcoin.
4️⃣ MARKET REACTION: Bitcoin initially moved higher following Zelensky’s response, reflecting optimism about a possible de-escalation.
⚠️ BUT HERE’S THE CATCH:
An announcement is not the same as an implemented ceasefire.
Without Russian confirmation and verifiable compliance, the market could quickly reverse its initial reaction.
My view: This is a potentially positive macroeconomic catalyst for $BTC , but the real signal will come from energy prices, bond yields, the US dollar and whether the ceasefire actually holds.
Bitcoin doesn’t trade in isolation. Global liquidity and macroeconomic expectations matter.

🧊 ARE COLD WALLETS 100% SAFE?
No security system is perfect.
Cold wallets can reduce exposure to online attacks, but other risks remain:
🔓 Physical attacks
🎣 Phishing
📦 Tampered devices
💻 Malicious wallet software
🔑 Stolen recovery phrases
⚠️ User mistakes
And some of these risks have appeared in real security incidents.
Let’s examine the history. 👇
🧊 WHAT IS A COLD WALLET?
If you own Bitcoin, you’ve probably heard that cold wallets are one of the safest ways to protect it.
But what exactly are they?
A cold wallet is a way to keep the private keys controlling your $BTC offline, away from internet-connected devices.
Let’s explain how it all works, from the beginning.
🧵👇
🏦 WHY NOT JUST KEEP YOUR BITCOIN ON AN EXCHANGE?
Because there’s a major difference between owning $BTC through an exchange and controlling your own keys.
On a custodial exchange, the platform generally controls the private keys.
With a self custody wallet, you control them.
An exchange can freeze withdrawals or fail.
A cold wallet reduces dependence on a custodian, but makes YOU responsible for backups and security.
Not your keys, not your coins.
🔐 WHAT IS A WALLET PASSPHRASE?
Some wallets allow an optional additional secret, often called a BIP39 passphrase.
It works together with your recovery phrase to generate a different wallet.
Even with the same 24 recovery words, different passphrases produce different wallets.
But be careful:
If you forget the passphrase, your recovery words alone won’t restore that wallet.
Extra security also means extra responsibility.
🚨 CAN SOMEONE STEAL YOUR $BTC WITHOUT STEALING YOUR COLD WALLET?
YES.
If someone obtains your recovery phrase, they may be able to recreate your wallet on another device.
They don’t need your original hardware wallet.
And if you’re tricked into approving a malicious transaction, your device may sign it.
That’s why protecting your recovery phrase and checking transaction details are essential.
A cold wallet reduces risks. It doesn’t eliminate them.
🧊 HOW DOES A HARDWARE WALLET ACTUALLY WORK?
Imagine a small device that looks like a USB drive.
Popular examples include Ledger, Trezor, Coldcard, and BitBox.
When you want to send $BTC:
1️⃣ Your wallet software prepares a transaction.
2️⃣ The hardware device displays the details.
3️⃣ You verify and approve them.
4️⃣ The device signs using your private keys.
5️⃣ The signed transaction is broadcast to Bitcoin.
The private keys are designed to remain inside the device.
🔥 HOT WALLET VS COLD WALLET
A hot wallet manages private keys in an environment connected to the internet.
Examples include many mobile and desktop wallets.
A cold wallet keeps signing keys offline.
🔥 Hot wallets: convenient for frequent transactions.
🧊 Cold wallets: designed to reduce exposure to online attacks.
Neither eliminates the need for good security practices.
The difference is how your keys are protected.
😱 WHAT IF YOUR COLD WALLET IS LOST OR DESTROYED?
Your $BTC doesn’t disappear.
Remember: Bitcoin exists on the blockchain, not inside the physical device.
If you have the correct recovery phrase and any required additional information, you can generally restore access using a compatible wallet.
But if you lose both your device and your only valid backup, your Bitcoin may become permanently inaccessible.
No bank can reverse that.
🧠 PRIVATE KEY VS RECOVERY PHRASE
They’re related, but they’re NOT the same thing.
🔑 A private key controls spending authority for particular Bitcoin outputs.
🌱 A recovery phrase can be used to regenerate an entire collection of wallet keys and addresses.
One wallet may manage thousands of addresses.
That’s why protecting your recovery phrase is so important.
It can be the master backup to your entire $BTC wallet.
🚨 WHAT ARE THOSE 12 OR 24 SECRET WORDS?
They’re commonly called a recovery phrase, seed phrase, or mnemonic.
Many wallets use these words to represent a secret from which the wallet’s private keys can be regenerated.
This means the words can restore access to your $BTC if your device is lost or destroyed.
But there’s a catch:
Anyone who obtains your recovery phrase may be able to restore your wallet too.
⚙️ HOW DO PRIVATE AND PUBLIC KEYS WORK TOGETHER?
Imagine sending $BTC to a friend.
Your wallet creates a transaction.
Your private key generates a digital signature authorizing the payment.
Bitcoin nodes verify that signature using the corresponding public key.
If the transaction satisfies Bitcoin’s rules, it can be accepted into the network.
Your private key never needs to be revealed.
🔓 WHAT IS A PUBLIC KEY?
Bitcoin uses two related cryptographic keys:
🔐 Private key: kept secret, used to sign transactions.
🔓 Public key: derived mathematically from the private key, used to verify signatures.
A Bitcoin receiving address is typically derived from a public key or a spending script.
You can share a receiving address to receive $BTC.
But NEVER share your private key.
🔑 WHAT IS A PRIVATE KEY?
A private key is a secret number that allows you to authorize Bitcoin transactions using cryptographic signatures.
Whoever controls the relevant private key can generally spend the associated $BTC.
Think of it as the ultimate proof of ownership.
But unlike a password, you can’t simply call customer support to reset it.
Lose access to your keys and your backups, and your Bitcoin may be lost forever.
📍 WHERE IS YOUR BITCOIN ACTUALLY STORED?
Surprisingly, Bitcoin isn’t stored inside your wallet.
Your $BTC exists as records on the Bitcoin blockchain, a public ledger maintained by thousands of computers around the world.
Your wallet stores the cryptographic information needed to control and spend it.
Think of the blockchain as the ledger, and your wallet as the tool that lets you authorize transactions.
Bitcoin ETF flows are still not showing a strong reversal.
Last available US spot ETF data showed only +$21.1M after two heavy outflow days.
That is stabilization.
Not conviction.
Until stronger inflows return, institutional demand remains the key signal for bitcoin:native .

bitcoin:native climbed back above $83K after dropping near $80K.
But the week still closed under pressure, with ETF outflows, high yields, oil pressure and liquidation risk weighing on the market.
The bounce matters.
But confirmation needs spot demand, not just short-term positioning.

The biggest short-term risk for $BTC is still leverage.
One year after the $19B liquidation crash, the same market structure remains: derivatives, perpetual futures, concentrated positioning and liquidation cascades.

$BTC liquidity looks stronger than during the October 2025 crash.
Bitcoin order books now show deeper liquidity near price, with around 75% more depth within 1% of spot compared with the crash day.
But spot volume is still weak.
More liquidity.
Less conviction.
That is not a full bullish confirmation yet.

Paper Bitcoin still moves the market.
