💡New findings from the National Forest Inventory (NFI) highlight who owns Britain’s woodlands and how that land is held across England, Scotland and Wales. 🔗Read the full report: https://t.co/lxjH2z9bIr
🔎 The latest report draws on an NFI questionnaire survey of woodland owners, providing updated estimates of woodland area by ownership and property type.
🌳One key insight: Around 1.1 million hectares of woodland in Great Britain are privately owned by individuals, accounting for 37% of the total woodland area.
🤝Understanding woodland ownership is crucial for shaping effective forestry policy, supporting sustainable management, and delivering environmental benefits at scale.
