Sasha & the 10 boars🐗
Once upon a time there was a fair haired maiden that lived in the valleys. Her name was Sasha, & she had heard of the plight of 10 boars who had been locked in an illegal slaughter house by a very cruel man.
Rather than shy away or look the other way...🧵

➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE - 😱😱😱

➡️ 14 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ BACALAO IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS -She is a sweet, mature girl with an upper respiratory infection, chronic kidney disease and dental disease. She is not eating in shelter and needs supportive care in a veterinary clinic to recover from her infection. She will need a kidney friendly diet indefinitely in her new home. NOT EATING IS A DEATH SENTENCE IN THE SHELTER. This evaluation/diagnosis means that BACALAO will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: I dreaded Fridays when I was a kid. My aunt prepared "bacalao". Just the smell of it made me shrink in my chair... So, I was wondering about the Bacalao I was going to meet...What a lovely cat! Not an encounter I would have bad memories about! Bacalao is at her door, ready for a meet and greet, curious, meowing softly and gently. As I open her den, she leans into pets, purrs very softly and comes even closer, indicating that she would not mind coming into my arms. Bacalao is so sweet. She was abandoned in the hallways of a small apartment building and brought to us by a Good Samaritan. She does have senior teeth that might need to be attended to, aced her behavior evaluation and is ready to go home with a senior cat lover. Come and meet lovely Bacalao at the Manhattan Care Center. Bacalao is at the front of the kennel, observing the assessor with slightly dilated pupils and meowing softly as they approach. When the kennel door is opened, she leans forward to sniff the assessor's hand before softly head bunting it. She allows and leans into all petting, tail held high as she is pet and beginning to knead. She is able to be easily picked up, remaining calm and purring when she is pet and leaning against the assessor. When she is placed back into her kennel, Bacalao remains at the front, continuing to head bunt and lean her body against the assessor's hands, appreciating more petting. When the kennel door is closed and the interaction is ended, Bacalao softly meows at the assessor, gently pawing at the door to solicit further attention. Bacalao interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

🆘🆘 ANGEL (ID 256162), 7 YO, FEMALE– IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an agency on 6/3/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿

➡️ JEAN IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - She is a sweet, mature cat who is suddenly falling over and not eating. She needs an internal medicine and neurology consultation for suspected vestibular disease due to an inner ear infection. She will need supportive care in a veterinary clinic until a diagnosis and definitive treatment plan are made. NOT EATING IS A DEATH SENTENCE IN SHELTER. This evaluation/diagnosis means that JEAN will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: Angel was found in the street, flanked by a bunch of kittens(age unknown). They were unfortunately separated and Angel was brought to her finder's home. She was upset and became frantic when a large dog was brought into the room she was in. I guess, trying to escape, she scratched or bit her host and subsequently was brought to the Manhattan Care Center. Poor cat...What an ordeal! What a terrible succession of events. Angel has been a sweet girl within our walls. She is quite thin but wears a lovely coat. A girly little gal, friendly, social(although a bit shy for a start) and enjoying all the attention and love she can get. Angel so deserves a better life with a caring and loving new owner, in a low traffic home(no small children) and no dogs... Angel would love to be yours..... Angel is at the front of the kennel, sitting upright and meowing softly as the assessor approaches. When the kennel door is opened, she leans forward to softly head bunt the assessor's hand. She accepts crunchy treats and allows and leans into all petting, raising her back as she is pet. When she is picked up and held, she remains calm, leans in, and purrs. When she is placed back down, she remains at the front, tail held upright in a question mark position and continuing to head bunt and lean into all petting. Angel interacts with the observer, solicits and appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. We recommend that Angel go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in new home adjustment and decompression periods. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

She KNOWS no 1️⃣ wants her, & that's the ULTIMATE TRAGEDY.
This is what happens when you wipe all the 🔥JOY🔥 from someone's eyes‼️
This is what happens when you convince a PUPPY that she's WORTHLESS ‼️
#A386608 Please take a GOOD look at 1️⃣ yo, Black Lab, NANCY'S face.
💥That's RIGHT! Those ANCIENT, PAINED eyes belong to a 1️⃣-year-old, who already has severe alopecia, inflamed skin, & an abscessed hock on one rear leg.💥
Left to DIE at #CorpusChristiACS.
The pain in her heart is almost beyond ENDURANCE. ❤️🩹
Please, someone HAS to help, or we'll lose her!
ELEANOR ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Our gorgeous Eleanor. It still feels unreal that she's finally home.❤️❤️❤️
There is nothing more wonderful than walking onto the yard and being greeted by our beautiful little Eleanor.
We love her so much, and we're beyond delighted to have her safely back where she belongs. We still can't quite believe she's home.❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you're able to, please consider donating to help Eleanor and all her friends. We're making important changes to keep them safe, including new fencing, additional security cameras, and other protective measures. Every contribution helps us create a safer environment and protect Eleanor and all the other ponies from evil humans 😡😡😡
