the first night after my baby was born, a nurse came and checked his vitals and then wrapped him up and stuck him in the little plastic hospital bassinet. after a long moment, fiancé said “it seems kinda messed up to just leave him in there right?” i’d been thinking the same thing and said i agreed.
i’d been awake for 36 hours and had just given birth and needed rest, so fiancé took our tiny baby and held him on his chest the entire night, bringing him to me every few hours to nurse.
our son is now 15 weeks old and adores his father. he often catches sight of his dad and breaks out in an enormous goofy smile and starts wiggling excitedly. fiancé knows all the tricks to get him to sleep and deal with his reflux and make him smile.
if you’ve have 4 babies and haven’t managed to form a bond with a single one of them, you should seriously reconsider what you’re doing as a parent and you definitely shouldn’t be offering parenting advice in the meantime.
