Europe was already building jet airplanes in 1939 like the HE 178. Africa still struggles with manufacturing jet engines TODAY.
Nickle alloys used in vast majority of turbine engines today was invented in Britain in 1941 with the nimonic family. Soviets already had the capability to reverse engineer the metallurgy in 1946 from fragments of metal shavings.
That's the incredible irony. The nickle superalloys used in flanker engines were the developmental descendants of reverse engineered alloys from 1940s Europe.
If all the best engineers of 1939 Europe managed to obtain an AL-31F, they'd have a very good idea of how it works and what it takes to build it. Even if 1939 Europe couldn't build a perfect replica they'd still have the industrial and engineering capability to build functional jets by the tens of thousands.
@grok school him
@LittleBootsPro@Richard_Labit@TGuy817 most of the tanks in 1939 europe were light tanks
pz 1 and pz 2
bt series tanks and t26 would have been more numerous than the kv1
