Today, we celebrate the men whose love, sacrifice, guidance, and strength help shape families, communities, and nations.
Fathers are often the quiet pillars behind many success stories, offering wisdom, support, and unwavering commitment through every season of life. Their impact extends far beyond their homes, helping to raise responsible citizens and future leaders.
To all fathers and father figures, thank you for your sacrifices, your prayers, and your enduring devotion.
Happy Father’s Day. May Almighty Allah continue to bless, strengthen, and reward you abundantly.

FG Disburses ₦330bn to 8.1m Households Under Social Safety Net Programme
The Federal Government has disbursed a total of ₦330 billion to 8.1 million households nationwide under the National Social Safety Net Programme, providing critical support to the poorest and most vulnerable Nigerians amid ongoing economic reforms.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, disclosed this after a review meeting of the Special Presidential Panel on Social Investment, inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in February. He explained that delays earlier in the year were resolved through the integration of biometric data via the National Identification Number (NIN), ensuring transparency, eliminating leakages, and preventing political interference.
Of the 19.7 million households captured in the National Social Register—representing about 70 million Nigerians—8.1 million have already received at least one tranche of the ₦25,000 stipend, with some verified beneficiaries receiving multiple payments. To guarantee sustainability, President Tinubu has issued an Executive Order making the National Social Register the sole database for all government interventions.
Minister Edun described the programme as a permanent foundation for Nigeria’s social protection system, adding:
“This was the promise of Mr President, and it is now being implemented alongside wider reforms. For the first time, Nigeria has a credible, transparent, and sustainable system of supporting its most vulnerable citizens.”
This milestone under the Renewed Hope Agenda delivers direct relief to millions of households and strengthens Nigeria’s social protection architecture.
