🇳🇴🇵🇱 Poland joins the Maritime initiative to strengthen security in the North Atlantic, the Arctic and the Baltic Sea.
The initiative brings European Allies and Canada together to enhance maritime security and take greater responsibility for Allied security.
“European countries and Canada are stepping up and taking greater responsibility for the security of Allied territory,” says Norwegian Minister of Defence Tore O. Sandvik.
Takk for tjenesten. Hvil i fred.

🇳🇴🇺🇦Norway is now providing an additional NOK 3 billion to strengthen Ukraine's air defence systems.🇳🇴🇺🇦
'Ukraine's battle to defend itself is our battle as well. Ukraine is facing Russian attacks every day. Russia is continuing to carry out air strikes against civilians, Ukrainian cities and critical energy infrastructure. Ukraine is managing to stop most drones and cruise missiles, but it needs to strengthen its defence against ballistic missiles. This is one of Ukraine’s most urgent priorities. Norway is therefore now providing NOK 3 billion for air defence,’ said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

❝From the High North to the eastern flank, Norway makes the Alliance stronger.❞
— @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte welcomes 🇳🇴 Prime Minister @jonasgahrstore to NATO
Norway 🇳🇴 and France 🇫🇷 have signed a comprehensive defence agreement under which the two countries commit to come to each other’s aid should the need arise.
‘The Narvik Agreement is an important part of our hedging strategy. It will be a useful tool for safeguarding Norwegian defence and security interests at a time when Europe is having to strengthen its defence capabilities in order to increase its strategic autonomy,’ said Minister of Defence Tore O. Sandvik.

Norway contributes NOK 2.8 billion to Ukraine through PURL 🇳🇴 🇺🇦
Together with our European partners, Norway is providing funding for another military support package to help Ukraine defend itself. The military equipment is being sourced from the US.
This latest contribution brings Norway’s total support under the PURL initiative to just over NOK 12.5 billion.
Norway hopes that more European countries will contribute to this initiative to ensure Ukraine receives much-needed military equipment as quickly as possible.
‘The PURL initiative is the most effective way to supply Ukraine’s armed forces with the critical weapons the country needs, such as missiles for the Patriot air defence system. Deliveries through PURL have an immediate impact. PURL is an effective tool for providing prioritised military support to Ukraine,’said Minister of Defence Tore O. Sandvik.
