Blasphemous was a fun run, but I don't feel the usual need to 100% given the usual obscurity for conditions in a souls-esque game. Also bleak and gory, but still fun.
Remnant: From The Ashes is neat as far as being a coop soul-esque shooter though I maxed out the melee trait first like someone who thought I'd be meleeing more without getting hit. I got hit. A lot.
"Hit it til it dies, don't get hit." A motto for pretty much any game.
I know the patterns though. But I'm still getting hit. At least I'm getting more skins unlocked.
I've reached the Astrolab in Dead Cells with a repeater crossbow. I've left the Astrolab in Dead Cells via all the traps in the secret area there.
I hate those flying carpet tomes.
Raging Brachy in MW: Iceborne is making me question my sanity. How far am I willing to go in learning to get good so I can craft meta gear to continue getting good? When is enough enough for deco farming? What's the line between content and excuses to go through the motions?
Door Kickers: Action Squad was okay in the "turn off your brain and enjoy pretending to be SWAT" way, but the latter half of the game felt like it was making more and more increasingly frustrating ways to get hostages killed to rip away the 3-star ranking.
It feels like a breadcrumb trail towards the illusion of power. Finish missions perfectly to get all the stars needed to unlock equipment. Or take MGSV with the absurd amount of grinding needed there for post-game/PvP gear. It was fun at some point, but why keep doing it?
Neon Abyss is like someone wanted to convert Binding of Isaac into a vibrant side-scrolling shooter with similar levels of disappointment when you don't get a damage up. And like Enter the Gungeon, guns are nice, but stacking passive items is far more valuable.
Back in a Monster Hunter mood. Rocking a Long Gunlance Zorah set since it requires the least amount of investment and MR requirement to obtain. That said, it's making me think about all that time spent in 4U. I wonder how much longer World gets supported until the next title.
Vanquish was neat, but I didn't feel enough of the Platinum charm in terms of setting/character/setpieces. That or I upgraded the hell out of the shotgun/assault rifle/antiarmor pistol which let me breeze by elite encounters while still getting mobbed from poor energy management.
There's a lot of depth too.
Purity, temporary shields, enable counterattacks which makes it important to maintain a consistent source of it.
A character can only have 1 type of buff and debuff at a time, meaning you can end a DoT by taking a taunt debuff. 8 equip slots/character.
Finished the Mutable Route in Virgo vs the Zodiac which was a tad weird since I was making Fixed decisions (i.e. cut down heresy with extreme prejudice), but still fitting. I'm not sure about the lack of buildup to the ending, but I enjoyed it and the rest of this charming JRPG.
Black Holes areas make you super overleveled though. They're optional, level-scaled fights that hand out gear when fully completed, but don't. Just finish it once and keep the pace going.
