@PhilosophyDad1@CDBreeler@FrHilderbrand Even military retirees would have to get permission if they live right next to, and not on, a military installation and regularly attend services there. https://t.co/Es6qeRF9Us
@PhilosophyDad1@CDBreeler@FrHilderbrand As a Military Ordinariate, the AMS has jurisdiction over people and not territory (similar to the Anglican Ordinariate or Opus Dei). There are no military installations or personnel (or veterans affairs facilities) therefore no AMS jurisdiction.
@PhilosophyDad1@CDBreeler@FrHilderbrand A civilian who happens to be on a military installation does not fall under AMS, for example it requires non-AMS people to get permission from their territorial parish to receive baptism.
@WattersCollar@scotus_wire It wouldn’t be for taking a dump, just for flushing without an environmental impact study and a 90-day public comment period.
@FrHilderbrand As the U.S. signed the treaty and it entered into force 10 October 1967. Regrettably, the moon was likely not consecrated to the Sacred Heart.
@FrHilderbrand They started with “this nation” and the Outer Space Treaty of 1967 protects outer space (which the treaty explicitly states includes the moon) from claims of national sovereignty.
@theblessedsalt@BaldwinIVofJer In their defense, not all theology degrees are equal. There’s several very public theologians who have degrees and books to their name that I wouldn’t want to teach anything at my parish.
@PDiczok@PillarCatholic@uofl@bellarmineU That’s an overpriced mediocre education on a campus that includes a few more crucifixes that normal. That’s not a Catholic education.
@PDiczok@PillarCatholic Catholic colleges? They’re don’t have sex abuse settlements, they’re pouring money into buildings and administrative staff while chasing rankings… just like every other school. Near me in Louisville, I’m pretty sure there’s more opportunities for mass @uofl than @bellarmineU
@Katy_Faust - Be rich
- Go to poor country
- Use woman who needs money for “supporting her own family”
- Assert “We didn’t exploit anyone”
- Claim victimhood from legitimate, though toned-down, criticism
@Swag_Globalism@lsanger Just shared humanity “If you prick us, do we not bleed?” And then it’s inevitable decline into strife “The villainy you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.” Sometimes Christians aren’t good Christians, and sometimes we can admit it.
@Simply_Tessy Our Lord stumbled three times but never laid down His cross. By all means stumble, and you will, but don’t lay down your cross. Our Lord is walking right next to you, and He will help you to stand up and keep carrying it to the end; not to your own crucifixion but to paradise.
@Swag_Globalism@lsanger Similarly, the tools of theology (better equipped to answer questions about man’s relationship to God, nature and himself) are insufficient to answer questions like “what is the age of the Earth?”.
