The Fractsidus Have Been Studying Second Awakening All Along

I've been thinking about the pattern behind the Fractsidus' involvement with Second Awakening for a while now, and from Xuanqing's tragedy all the way to Jinhsi, it actually makes a lot more sense.

As we know, the Fractsidus were the main perpetrators behind the chaos in Mengzhou, ultimately leading to the death of the Sentinel.

They have had an interest in Second Awakening for a long time. The tragedy that happened to Xuanqing gave them a phenomenon they wanted to understand and exploit. They failed to obtain all the information they needed through that route, so they looked for another path through Sentinel technology and knowledge.

If we look at the bigger picture, the Fractsidus have a very strong reason to pursue Second Awakening. They know that a Resonator who successfully undergoes Second Awakening can reach a level of power that can even approach or rival a Sentinel.

Fractsidus records explicitly mention that they have researched artificially inducing Resonance abilities, using mechanical modifications and Echoes, and that they are specifically interested in the Second Resonance Awakening Process.

Their apparent goal is to discover a method of producing Resonators with extreme power without having to rely on the natural relationship between a Sentinel and its Resonator.

So if we go back to Mengzhou, Xuanqing's existence becomes extremely interesting to the Fractsidus because Xuanqing was a real case of a human attempting Second Awakening through a connection with a Sentinel.

They had an actual example, a Resonator, a Sentinel, frequency collision, extreme conditions, and an observable outcome. In other words, if the Fractsidus were looking for a formula for Second Awakening, a case like Xuanqing's would essentially be a highly valuable experiment.

At the initial stage, they were trying to understand the phenomenon of Second Awakening itself. They wanted to know how a Resonator could break past their normal limits. The problem was that Second Awakening turned out to be something that was not easy to replicate.

There were issues involving compatibility, frequency collision, the relationship with a Sentinel, and most importantly, the Arbiter factor, which only became much clearer once we reached Jinhsi's case.

So, Xuanqing's tragedy can be viewed as one of the early patterns they studied, but that doesn't necessarily mean they managed to obtain the complete formula. And this explains why their attention eventually shifted toward the Civilization Capsule.

The Civilization Capsule essentially provides something different from simply observing a Resonator undergoing Second Awakening. It contains Sentinel knowledge and technology, so for the Fractsidus, the Capsule represents a way to obtain much more fundamental information about how Sentinel technology and systems actually work.

Muyu himself later explicitly connected their search to “Sentinel's knowledge,” while throughout the 3.7 story, fragments of the Civilization Capsule were indeed successfully stolen by the Fractsidus.

Then comes Jinhsi's case on the future.

Jinhsi gave the Fractsidus something they may not have been able to obtain from Xuanqing: A successful Second Awakening that could be observed much more clearly.

Jinhsi directly confronted Jué and used the collision between their frequencies to trigger Second Awakening. She successfully pushed beyond her limits and obtained an ability on a scale that she previously could not reach. Jinhsi pushed herself to the brink of Overclocking and successfully inherited Jué's Temporal Mandate.

Then they moved on to Rinascita and started creating Threnodian Resonator.

In Rinascita, they conducted experiments involving the Artificial Threnodian Resonator, which led them to the hypothesis that a Resonator is essentially a Shackle for a Threnodian.

Threnodians are conceptual, immortal, incorporeal entities born from humanity's deepest fears. Binding themselves to a Resonator gives them a physical form that limits their power while simultaneously acting as a kind of “prison” or shackle.

Then they couldn't, failed to, find a way around that limitation. So they basically went, “Oh, maybe the Civilization Capsule will do the trick,” and eventually shifted their efforts toward obtaining the Civilization Capsule.

So the conclusion of all this is, we'll tear Cristoforo's book apart later, once we finally reach the New Federation.

@ScaRover44 I think it's not 2nd awakening. Her YYX awakening is like extended version of her skill tree while 2nd awakening is like advanced job or classes in rpg(like swordsman become swordsaint, ect.) Hence you need do something and required admin(arbiter) approval.
