Most commercial poultry systems use fast-growing breeds, like Ross for speed & yield.
We use Hubbard chickens;
A slow-growing breed suited to outdoor rearing for natural movement development & genuine maturity.
Breed matters because flavour, texture & quality begin with the bird itself.
Given more time & space, Hubbard birds develop stronger bone structure, more balanced muscle, better fat distribution & a deeper flavour profile.
Time matters.
Not just for flavour, but to develop naturally, move freely & reach genuine maturity.
Nick explains; Campylobacter is naturally present in poultry- 1 of the benefits of more time is that, as they mature, they’re better able to resist reduce its prevalence.
