The ideologically-captured TTC Board were clearly irritated and uncomfortable with my deputation. Most remained preoccupied with their phones and laptops while I articulated the harsh realities about the transit system they are entrusted to care for.

The average salary of those in the room exceeded $200K per year, including Joe Mihevc, a “consultant” who has several lucrative contracts with the City. No Board member had any comments or questions for me and were eager to see me leave the room. The Chair was especially displeased with my remarks.

FYI - the TTC has a costly “diversity department” and “truth and reconciliation action plan.” I’m not sure how either are related to their operating mandate of delivering a safe, reliable, and efficient transit system.
