Foushee for Congress

Lifelong North Carolinian. Mother. Congresswoman from North Carolina’s greatest district - NC04. My focus is your future.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

After a whirlwind of a few days, I made it back to Washington to vote in Congress.

Once again, I want to thank the Democratic voters of the 4th District for nominating me for a third term.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

Our country cannot support the existence of an inhumane agency that is solely focused on splitting our communities apart—period.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

I am deeply disturbed to hear that ICE detained Isaac Gallegos, a 19-year-old graduate of Orange High School, on Thursday. I join our community in demanding his immediate release and the dismantling of this rogue, undemocratic agency.

It was great to join my soror @AlsobrooksForMD here in North Carolina to support @RoyCooperNC! We are on the cusp of flipping Congress, and electing Roy to the Senate is critical to that effort.

There's 27 days until election day—make a plan to vote and get involved today!

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

It was a pleasure to join @LilliansList for the annual Lead with Lillian reception! This November is a critical opportunity for us to advance pro-choice candidates across the country, let’s get to work!

I had the pleasure of speaking to @Riley_Rogerson and @Owen_Dahlkamp about my vision for the future of AI policy.

As a Co-Chair of the House Democratic Commission on AI, I'll continue pushing legislation that safeguards our jobs, environment, and civil rights.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

It was a pleasure to join the Carolina Meadows candidate forum in Chatham County this week! It was great talking to Commissioner Mike Roberson and those in attendance about my work in Congress on behalf of #NC04, and how we can ensure that our government delivers for everyone.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

I've led over 10 bills relating to AI, including bills to ensure that HBCUs can educate their students about this technology.

Without being properly educated about AI, we won't have a seat at the table to ensure policies are properly protecting our rights, jobs and environment.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

It was great to join Clay Cane to talk about my role as Co-Chair of the House Democratic Commission on AI.

While Republicans ignore all attempts to regulate this technology, we’re ready to push legislation that puts people over the corporations profiting from this technology.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

I had the pleasure of catching up with @RoyCooperNC last week! Early in-person voting starts October 15th and I need partners like Roy in the Senate who are going to fight for working families in North Carolina.

AI continues to threaten our communities through scams, job losses, data centers and so much more—it’s long past time for Congress to take action.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

As online and AI-assisted scams continue to put families across the country at risk, I was proud to introduce the SAFE Platforms Act to hold online platforms accountable and protect consumers.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

As this technology continues to change society, we must ensure that our community is playing a part in shaping the workforce and establishing sensible AI guardrails that protect working families.

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

Thank you to everyone who attended my @CBCFinc Annual Legislative Conference panel with @SymoneDSanders, @MayaWiley, @1NadineSmith, and Nikki Pope of NVIDIA on protecting civil rights in the age of AI!

[Foushee for Congress @FousheeforNC]

1.5 million children losing food assistance benefits is cruel and inhumane.

These aren’t children who don’t need benefits anymore—hundreds of thousands of American families are now facing even higher barriers to basic human necessities.

[Center on Budget @CenterOnBudget]

Well over 1.5 million children likely have lost SNAP since the harmful 2025 Republican reconciliation law took effect. As the school year begins, these losses put more children in low-income families at risk of not having enough food to eat. https://t.co/oJR01sdG2I

[Jamie Ager @JamieAgerNC]

When Helene tore through our community, Amy and I didn't think twice about opening our doors and sharing what we had with neighbors who lost everything.

Leadership isn't about which side of the aisle you're on. It’s about showing up when it matters.

I am grateful to have the support of former Congresswoman @GabbyGiffords!

Ending gun violence has been one of my biggest goals throughout my career in service, and I'm humbled to have the endorsement of a true trailblazer in that fight.
