Boring maths? Not in Year 4. We have found a way to transform a classic board game into addition and subtraction practice. Mathopoly sadly has no jail, but we might introduce that next time.

After weeks of homophones, we will (or should I say we'll) be focussing on contracted form in our Spellings.
Please explore commonly used contracted forms at home. Words to focus on:
doesn't
wouldn't / would've
and homophones you're/your and there/they're
@SharksClass
We have been exploring the life of musician Elizabeth Cotton in year 4. Today, the children prepared and performed a reading of the the first few pages of our book, Libba, set to the music by Elizabeth Cotton. Good to know we have such a talented bunch @SharksClass@WillowsCE
We have been absolutely blown away by the dazzling talent in Year 5. What an incredible way to finish off the term. We've been treated to singing, dancing, magic acts and so much more. How lucky are we to have such incredibly talented children in our year group! @CrocClass
We've had a fantastic time working our collage project, inspired by @Mr_Gores_Artist, in Year 5 today. The creativity, originality and dedication was incredible. Well done everyone! @CrocClass
Foxes class worked as real scientists today to make and test effective parachutes. All to get mini Mr Frerichs safely down from the screen. I can gladly say that the landing was a soft one, thanks to the methodical testing of our Fantastic Foxes!
Well done, Foxes, on finding out so many amazing and fascinating things about Belgium. You did a fantastic job in that assembly today! Keep singing that happy song!
A huge well done to our Y6s for planning and running a fantastic @BBCCiN fundraiser day. Yet again, they've done us proud and been fantastic representatives for our school. Thank you to parents for your support and generosity too @cormorantsclass@WillowsCE
Reminder that Mr Frerichs will be doing his reading marathon: 12 hours to read HP1. Come and watch him descend slowly into madness over the course of the day π π All for an amazing cause!

We've had a great day today letting out our artistic side. The theme today was 'Think Like an Artist'. There were no limits or restrictions and children could choose what to make and how to make it. It's been great to see everyone's creative process at work.
Year 5 did Maths without numbers today. Maths without numbers? How is that possible?
That's what we thought at first until we changed our mindset (thinking back to yesterday's PSHE lesson) and explored how we could solve problems in a numberless world. @CrocClass@WillowsCE
We had our naming ceremony for the chicks this morning. Foxes class got to name three of the chicks, and @CrocClass named the others. Meet: Goldie (Hawn), Spongebob and Walter. (We think Walter has a future as a model.
We've put the fun in fun run today! Look at those smiling faces, even on their tenth laps. As a special treat, we even had Mrs Herrero joining our class!
Thank you very much to everyone who has sponsored the children! #festivespirit
