Year 5 took a trip to Woolwich Library today and were amazed by the huge selection of books available! They had the chance to browse, pick out something special and take a book home to enjoy. A brilliant way to encourage independent reading! πβ¨
In Science, we dissected a daffodil to examine its floral organs and understand their functions. Following this, we explored and described the life cycle of a flowering plant, from germination to pollination, fertilisation and seed dispersal. @foxfield
This morning, our Respecting Ambassadors met with a visitor from Chartwells to discuss whatβs going well with our school dinners and suggest adjustments for our new menu. It was great to hear their ideas! @foxfield
This morning Year 5 and @FoxfieldYear4 have a very special visitor Krishna consolidating us on our learning in Himduism. Sharing personal experiences and how it connect Hindus to their daily lives. @foxfield
In History today, Year 5 tackled the importance of reliable primary and secondary sources today. They learnt that the best historians need both for success! @foxfield

In Science, we investigated which materials were irreversible and reversible. We tested sugar, salt, antiacids and coffeee and then presented our findings. @foxfield
Today we created our posters linked to our global theme of Sustainable Development. We included what key information is needed for our persuasive letter. Hereβs a sneak peak of what our persuasive letter will include. #SustainableDevelopment@foxfield
Year 5 took part in the NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe workshop, learning about different forms of abuse and how to recognise the signs. They were encouraged to speak out to a trusted adult or contact Childline if they ever feel worried. @foxfield
