VISITOR INFORMATION
Due to an important event occuring on the camp, Foxglove Covert LNR will be closed for one day only on Moday 22nd April.
The reserve will resume usual opening hours on Tuesday 23rd April.
In the Foxglove Covert garden today were a couple of firsts for the year; two stock doves, and two grey wagtails. Joining them were a couple of bramblings, alongside the usual mix of garden birds!
Unfortunately Foxglove Covert Local Nature Reserve is closed to again due to major failure of the access gate.
We will post an update when we can re-open.
The signing in procedure remains in place.
We are hopeful that access will improve in the near future, but in the meantime, thank you to everyone for the continued patience and support.
The reserve is now open with limited access. The number of visitors able to accesss the reserve at any one time will be limited. Please be aware that this means you may be turned away or asked to wait when you arrive at the front entrance to Cambrai Lines.
Regrettably, Foxglove Covert will remain closed to the public this weekend Sat 16 / Sun 17 March. We anticipate that there will be better news next week. With thanks to all of our visitors for their patience.
The first sightings of both common toad and common frog were reported at Foxglove today.
Keep an eye out for amphibians on the paths, in the undergrowth and around the ponds the next time you visit!

These trees now form part of the @QGCanopy, a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty's Platinunm Jubilee in 2022.
There was a fantastic turn out including lots of regular volunteers and students from the Personalised Learning College, Northdale Horticulture.
Foxglove volunteers have kindly planted over 300 trees donated The Woodland Trust.
A mixture of broadleaved species were planted including Sessile Oak, Field Maple, Wild Cherry, Rowan & Grey Willow in an area decimated by Ash dieback.
