Lutfur Rahman has taken the most extreme, undemocratic and dangerous decision available to him this evening. He has decided to rip out all the walking and cycling infrastructure in Bethnal Green.
This is not the end. We know we have public support for our cause and the overwhelming evidence too.
With the advice of our lawyers, we will monitor the legality of what the council has done. Our Crowd Justice page is open for donations. The more we receive, the more ready we are to act as necessary to protect our safer streets.

The first of our series of rain gardens on Green Lanes are almost complete! These will be getting planted up in the next few weeks 🌱 Exciting to see the scheme progress... we're sure it's going to improve this popular Enfield high street! 💚 #urbangreening
And not only are LTN’s working but the residents where they have been introduced are overwhelmingly in favour of them.
This was also reflected in our polling which showed that people are more opposed to cars than traffic calming measures.

High levels of car use harm us all but it’s actually those who don’t use cars who are most likely to be harmed by them.
We have found that introducing LTN’s has improved road safety and decreased volumes of traffic. Check it out here 👇

Errrmygaddd we had an amazing time at the Dr Bike session today in Bowes Low Traffic Neighbourhood in Enfield!
We popped along for a service, and ended up chatting to locals right in the middle of the street for over an hour. Was like a party. So much to tell you all! 1/10
Pleased to read the judgment this afternoon from Mr Justice Eyre concerning the Fox Lane LTN where each of the grounds and the claim made against the Council were dismissed.
I hope it reassures residents that the Council took a balanced view when making the Fox Lane LTN permanent

Haringey’s first Low Traffic Neighbourhood is due to go live on Monday. I was on Nightingale Road in Bounds Green this afternoon having a look around.
There were some concerns raised by local residents, but I’m hopeful the benefits will be very evident in a matter of weeks.
🔔🔔 Great news everyone! 🔔🔔

Incredible to see this latest map of low traffic neighbourhoods across London. It's not hard to envisage the day that you'll be able to cycle 🚴 or walk 🚶from the north to the south of the capital via the safety of LTNs.
Incredible 🔥
Great to see new cycle parking outside Fox Lane pub. Six stands up from two previously. Good provision next to the cycle lane = encourages more #activetravel
