If you are between age 19 and 29, this is why you will be poor forever
This is the age when you have energy, time, and flexibility, yet most people waste it like it is unlimited. You wake up, grab your phone, and scroll for hours through TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube watching other people build businesses, learn skills, and change their lives while telling yourself, โIโm still young, Iโve got time.โ Then five years pass and nothing changes.
You get your first paycheck and the first thing you do is upgrade your lifestyle. You order takeout all week, buy new clothes, subscribe to Netflix, Spotify, and every app you barely use, upgrade your phone, and start living like you already made it. By the second half of the month, your bank account is empty and your credit card is doing the heavy lifting. You call it enjoying life. Your wallet calls it a crisis.
You avoid learning real, marketable skills. Someone suggests learning coding, design, video editing, sales, or digital marketing. You say you will start next month. Next month becomes next year. Instead, you binge podcasts about success and watch motivational clips that make you feel productive without actually being productive.
You wait for a dream job. You ignore internships because they pay too little. You turn down entry-level roles because they feel beneath you. You skip side hustles because they look like too much work. You say you are waiting for the right opportunity, while someone your age starts small, stays consistent, and quietly passes you.
You chase fast money. You buy crypto because a YouTuber said it is going to the moon. You join a Discord group promising daily trading profits. You try a dropshipping โsystemโ that collapses in three weeks. You lose money and call it tuition.
You live on debt. You swipe your credit card for food, clothes, trips, and gadgets. You tell yourself you will pay it off later. Later comes with interest. You start avoiding your bank app because the numbers stress you out.
You spend more time arguing online than building anything. You debate politics, culture wars, sports, and celebrities. You are loud on social media and invisible in the economy. You know every trending topic but have no idea where your money actually goes.
You blame the system, the economy, student loans, inflation, and your boss. You say the world is unfair, but you refuse to change your habits. You want a different life with the same behavior.
If you live like this from 19 to 29, you will wake up at 30 wondering how you are still broke, tired, and behind. Poverty does not show up overnight. It is built quietly, one careless year at a time.

I'll give you just 3 financial updates. Take them seriously.
1. Forget about building a house for now. That should be the least of your worries. That 50 to 100 million naira you want to waste on building can set you up for life. Even if you are not good at business or investing, simply put the money in Money Market Funds (MMF). You can do this through your bank or fintech apps like Opay, PalmPay, Cowrywise, and PiggyVest, where you can earn up to 20% annually. If you invest 100 million, you will earn 20 million naira every year while still keeping full access to your capital.
2. Save 30% of your income every single month and invest it consistently. Even If you earn as low as 100k naira monthly and save 30k, that is 360k in the first year. Put it in MMF or government securities and keep adding every month. Repeat this discipline for 10 years. With current double-digit returns, you will not have less than 8 million naira and you can easily cross 10 million if rates stay strong.
3. If you can afford a small car, buy one, maintain it properly, and use it for mobility and business. Stop attending important meetings and presenting proposals on bike or keke. A car puts you two steps ahead immediately.
Bonus tip: Instead of buying one land for 10 million and spending 100 million to build a house on it, buy 11 pieces of land. Do proper due diligence, surveillance, and documentation, then leave them for 5 to 10 years to appreciate. You could easily make nothing less than 500 million from that move.
Above all, love God.

100K!!!๐ซThis time last year I was sitting in my little 9-5 office wondering if anyone would care if I released music. As an independent artist surrounded by an amazing team, friends, helpers and listeners who see the vision , I donโt take this lightly at all. 100K BABYYYY๐ฅณ๐ฅน
