Many African kings had no idea what Chattel slavery was, when they found out they tried to get these prisoners back, king Afonso being one example.

Africans traded war captives to Europeans for gunpowder and goods but had no idea about the reality of chattel slavery. There were no smartphones then. African slavery was vastly different to Chattel slavery

African slavery was vastly different to Chattel slavery, when the Africans found out what was really happening they tried to get the slaves back. King Afonso ruler of Kongo, Queen Nzinga, King Agaja....

Improper use of hands was dealt with by amputation. Children were forcibly separated from mother at Auction to the highest bidder. I could go on
