@claytsAFC The fluidity on the previous one was unparalleled, but maybe the best we can do w/out Zinny and Jesus?
Can’t remember us ever playing too fluidly last szn without at least 1 of them
@claytsAFC I’m interested to see Rice operating in “LCM” areas and Zinchenko inverting. They both operate in similar areas - will we see more fluidity like Xhaka x Zinny last szn?
@claytsAFC Shh let them keep saying it, it’s way more fun proving people wrong than living up to unrealistic expectations 😂
(Also Arsenal’s FPL player ownership will go down hopefully)
@FooTees_FPL @claytsAFC Ramsdale delivered in important moments for us last season, esp. away games.
Like Raya too but will his height come under more scrutiny at a Big 6 team? targeted at set pieces?
Imo smaller keepers don’t impose themselves in 1v1s, can’t see him having Alisson-esque aura
@claytsAFC P.S. I know there’s probably not a blanket rule for each of these and varies off game state but for example I like Martinelli a lot in transition, and think Havertz could thrive off cutbacks/late runs into the box (maybe good against low blocks?)
@claytsAFC Not sure if it’s a valid question but curious if you had a “Top 3 Assets” but contextualised, e.g. :
- Top 3 when we play a low block
- Top 3 when we play a mid block
- Top 3 when we’re playing in transition
- Top 3 against the “big 6”
- Top 3 against relegation sides
@claytsAFC With the way our team’s shaping up, what do you expect to happen to our Goals Scored and Goals Conceded from last season?
More clean sheets or More goals?
@claytsAFC Seems like a very opportunistic signing, not often you can pick up someone with his profile.
And as you say I now have unwavering faith in Mikel, exciting summer ahead!
@claytsAFC@Jumpthewave I went for same 10/11 bar Martinelli over Trossard, but Mikel doesn’t change a winning formula.
Martinelli can get joy in tough away games, picking up big goals.
Maybe NEW fancy their chances at home, play more expansively which leaves more room for Martinelli in transition?
@claytsAFC I had Schar in my team until that too 😅 If you’re not playing him for the next couple weeks you could maybe get away tbf, just seems like a knock
@half_turn What mistakes, if any, has Mikel Arteta made as a manager?
(I’m one of his biggest fans, but just wondering if I’ve ignored anything through bias)
This United game suits Odegaard much more than Martinelli. Martinelli will be up against Wan-Bissaka, who he may struggle to get the better of in 1v1 situations.
United will also operate in a low-block. Without Casemiro, Odegaard will operate in the half spaces.

@livelifefast300@claytsAFC Even Mudryk was a bad value deal tbh.
The good thing about this deal is it gives us more depth, and imo doesn’t price us out of a big move for a winger in the summer when we have UCL.
@claytsAFC poor at 1v1’s (no running power) but alright at combining and ballstriking.
Okay as a squad option to bring on in games where teams are parked on their box, but just boring imo!
Also he’s 28 and we’re offering a “long term contract” 🤔
Mudryk much more explosive which is sad
@claytsAFC Pre season I was quietly confident we could reach the 80pt mark, but I put an upper bound of around 87 maybe?
As the seasons gone on, it’s become more likely City don’t reach that 90pt threshold they usually do, potentially since they’re exerting less control by.
@claytsAFC This. Exactly what I was thinking as well.
Odegaard on the left today over Xhaka would’ve been better and then thought of Vieira RCM but he’s still not bulked up yet. Expecting a strong 2nd season next year where Mikel shows more faith.
@claytsAFC Yeah I’m also bigger on Eddie than most, he was awesome last season and his cameos this season have been class.
Imo he starts for most PL teams, so underrated!
I also think buying a winger + using Martinelli/ESR as the 9 is still most likely option.
@claytsAFC I play the Official Hyundai Match predictor - got NED-SEN and USA-WAL bang on for correct score, not sure how much that would’ve paid back though!
