When Gabriel complained about inconsistent Premier League refs, it was “cry more.” Now it’s the decision favors Arsenal and suddenly the media narrative changes. we’ve got receipts for everything
Funny lots 🤡
😱 Mikel Merino has played 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 league minutes than Ousmane Dembele this season.
The Arsenal star has been out of action since the end of January after undergoing foot surgery. 🤯
Declan Rice starting to fall into that category of Arsenal player that is exceptionally good, but people always want something extra.
Martin Odegaard will create 5 chances in a game, but people discount it because he missed a freekick.
Timber drops 8 out of 10s consistently, but was starting to get flack for a lack of goals or not being Trent with the moonrakers.
Every time Raya makes an error, people want to question him.
People want to have an Arteta out chat after a Wolves draw, despite monstrous consistency, and taking us to our highest levels since 2004.
Very weird trend. But I guess social media rewards extremism and presents it as the median viewpoint.
Dembele's hamstring was exploding when he was playing more than 20 league games per season at Barcelona but now at PSG he plays 10 league games a year and gives out lectures about how pressing and working hard is so important. Spare us bro.
🚨🎙️ | Wayne Rooney BLASTS the VAR decision Arsenal’s overturned penalty vs Atletico Madrid:
“Look, I’ll be honest with you, I’m sitting here in the studio scratching my head. For me, that’s a penalty all day long. I don’t care how many angles you show me on that VAR monitor, there’s contact there, and it’s enough to put Eberechi Eze off his stride when he’s about to pull the trigger.
The referee gives it on the pitch straight away, so he’s seen enough in real time and he’s in a good position. Then VAR gets involved, calls him over to the screen, and suddenly they’re trying to find reasons not to give it. Once a referee goes to that monitor, there’s always pressure to overturn it. But why? It’s not a clear and obvious error. It’s a foul.
Eze gets there first, nicks the ball, and he’s been caught. We’ve seen those given plenty of times in this game. If that’s Ademola Lookman going down at the other end, or if it happens in favour of one of the big sides, we’re not even having this conversation. It’s a stonewall penalty and everyone moves on. If it happens at the other end, we’d all be screaming for it.
That was Arsenal’s golden opportunity. They’ve worked their socks off tonight, played some cracking football, and earned that chance to win the match from the spot. To have it taken away by someone sat in a booth miles away is gutting for them.
Sometimes VAR tries to be too clever. It’s there to fix obvious mistakes, not re-referee every little bit of contact and second guess decisions. Tonight they’ve got it massively wrong.
You can talk about marginal contact all you want, but at the end of the day, Eberechi Eze has been fouled in the box. Arsenal have been robbed tonight, simple as that. It’s a shambles really.”
Liverpool have 10 players on over 3000 minutes in all comps, #Arsenal and Chelsea have seven, Man City have five, Newcastle have four.
The intensity of the Premier League is on a whole other level to France, Germany, and even Spain.
It’s killing itself.
Am I going mental with the way this is being reported? 🤣
Arsenal are literally playing 3 games in the next 7 days including one half way across Europe
But poor poor City ❤️😢
Points won last 5 League games:
Arsenal: 12
Man City: 11
Points won last 10 League games:
Arsenal: 20
Man City: 21
Points won last 20 League games:
Arsenal: 41
Man City: 42
Arsenal aren't playing particularly well right now, but the level of panic online is crazy to me!
I feel this post summarises how most see Gyokeres this season - and I don’t think it’s fair.
Suggesting his goal output to be any less value just because who they’ve came against is absurd when you consider these are the games that Arsenal have struggled with in recent years (Southampton, West Ham, Everton to name a few). These goals have ultimately turned measly 1 point draws into 3 point wins!
He has been MASSIVE for Arsenal this season, and carried this attack on his own at times.
Martinelli has 0 league goals since September
Saka has 3 league goals since November
Trossard has 0 goals in any comp this year!
Gyokeres has been the one to deliver in these games - and lest not we forget goals v Atletico, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
He was bought for £56m, less than Brennan Johnson for comparison, and delivered at times we needed him.
Overall, his move has definitely been a success so far, and whilst not without his critics, I think we should be looking a lot more fondly towards our Swedish striker.
What a disgusting lie to push 🤢
People will sit there and tell you there is no agenda. Arsenal are the 2nd most negatively affected team in the league.
This doesn’t even include instances where VAR just hasn’t intervened which has cost us around 6-10 points too.
This is why I always say Arsenal fans should ignore the outside noise. People had no problem with physicality until Arsenal were the ones being physical
Darren Fletcher on TNT : “On Thursday we’re showing Brentford v Arsenal, a fixture that’s not been a great one for the Gunners recently”
McCoist adds - “After recent home wobbles at the Emirates they might be better off away from home though Fletch”
Arsenal at Brentford in last few years - four wins / F8 A1
Arsenal at home this season - P20 W17 D2 L1
