There’s always the temptation by people in power to suppress the voices and rights of the people.

But, There’s an inherent self purge with Democracy, try as you may, you can never supress the will of the people.

The current rampant arrests and persecution of opposition voices, arrest of people in the name of insults, the arrest of Tik Tokers and media persons, the weaponisation of bail conditions and romance between the executive and the judiciary is a present and real danger to the democracy our fore fathers laid their lives for.

Hearing the voices of opposition is always uncomfortable for people in power but that’s what we signed up for.

Let’s stop the selective justice now before it becomes a cycle. Power is like ice….

Live and let’s Live… that’s the beauty of democracy.

Yesterday, I led an NPP delegation to join the Chiefs and people of Dagbon in Yendi, for the installation of the Regent of the Dagbon Kingdom, Kampakuya-Naa Yakubu Abukari.

It was a momentous occasion, and the sacred customs and traditions of Dagbon manifested admirably.

I received in audience a delegation of Chiefs from the Dagbon Kingdom, who formally informed me of the passing of Ndan Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II and the date for the installation of his Regent.

Ndan Ya-Na served Dagbon and Ghana with dignity and wisdom. May Allah grant him Jannah and comfort the Royal Family, Chiefs and people of Dagbon.
