@Kirsty_Mo@theLUCASTDS@kimincrete My parents had two more kids when my older sister and I were 12-16. We definitely got nasty looks when we were out and about with the kids but I didn’t internalize it. Just figured something was wrong with them that this was their attitude about it.
@theLUCASTDS We had flour babies we had to take care of. Just little paper sacks of flour, but we had to bring them with us everywhere we went and make sure they didn’t get damaged. We usually put onesies on and drew faces on them. This was a Catholic all girls high school.
@DEGOPer@EM_RESUS My sister got out her phone and had dialed 911. But they got it dislodged before she pushed send. Still, with response times that’s a long time to go without oxygen. I got my dad a dechoker device to use on my mom since she has a condition that makes her prone to choking.
@Mathair_@DEGOPer@EM_RESUS I saw this recently. The woman stood on a chair behind the much taller choking man. It worked! The offending piece flew across the table when she got it.
@DEGOPer@EM_RESUS I saw someone perform the Heimlich maneuver recently! The choking victim was a tall man so she stood on a chair to get I. The right position. When she got it out, the chunk flew across the table. It was so scary! Everyone was watching.
@skibumtrading@HarmlessYardDog I agree with all these potential explanations and also suggest certain areas may have jobs and/or cultures that are more interesting / welcoming to Autistic people. This could have a generational effect as well since autistic has genetic factors.
@realgirl_fieri I once told my husband “If you knew how little I have to eat to lose weight, you would be truly disturbed.” Basically less all day than he eats in a single meal. It gets very draining and just emotionally not worth it at some point when you have a body that wants to have fat.
@64gifts@Helen_Oakleigh@healingfromlc I’d guess that competitive microbes are going to interact differently with other bacteria than with viruses like SARS-CoV-2. CPC has been shown some effectiveness. https://t.co/GKJKFV8GTK
@ElusiveRural And I recommended wearing N95 masks. She said she’s not going to isolate OR wear a mask IN HER OWN HOME. Um ok ma’am but your husband is miserable and you’re just going to… breathe his viral particles in? I seriously don’t get it.
@ElusiveRural A woman on a local moms group asked how long this strain of covid takes to recover from because her husband just tested positive and he’s miserable. In a comment thread she said they aren’t isolating because they’re already exposed. I commented that it’s not too late to isolate!
@Rob_Madge_02 I saw this on the West End and it is an exquisite show. You are worth the wait! New Yorkers can bawl their eyes out next season just as well as they could have this spring.
@PandoWhisperer@AzureWingedOne@LauraMiers Agreed. It may be hanging out in different organs, and also may be at a level that is not detectable via RAT tests. There needs to be a certain amount of antigen present; it may not be detectable at the persistence level.
