Today marks the death anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the visionary architect of the White Revolution and the icon of India's dairy cooperative movement.

Hailing from Kozhikode, Keralam, Dr. Kurien placed ownership directly into the hands of millions of small farmers, turning dairy farming into a powerful instrument of social empowerment and rural self-reliance. His pioneering leadership through Amul and Operation Flood remains a masterclass in cooperative strength.

Dr. Verghese Kurien laid the foundation for Keralam’s dairy self-reliance by guiding the establishment of Milma (KCMMF) under Operation Flood, successfully transplanting the Anand cooperative model to empower the state's local dairy farmers.

Tributes to the visionary leader whose legacy continues to guide our cooperative and agricultural efforts.

On the solemn occasion of Mother Teresa’s death anniversary, I visited the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata.

I also met with Sr. Mary Joseph M.C., Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity.

Mother Teresa devoted her life to serving the most vulnerable, touching innumerable lives with compassion, restoring dignity and reminding the world of the power of selfless service.

Her legacy reminds us that humanity must always come before everything else.
