Knowing we're not a threat of bringing Covid to the homeless will be like giving us wings! And receiving the vaccine ourselves will help us overcome the fear many homeless have of trusting the "system".
Most of the advocates are not seen as "authorities" but "friends". Dear Reader, if you have influence will you support and promote moving homeless advocates to the front of the line of vaccine recipients?
We are a vital piece of our community health. We are also admired by those who are experiencing homelessness. We have influence. They are a Covid-19 vulnerable population yet are susceptible to conspiracy theories, and find trusting authority risky.
There is a small army of "first responders" who have no official or paid position. They are the advocates that provide nonprofit services to the homeless. We quietly provide hot meals, food, transportation and supplies, often addressing an "emergency" need.

@SenJeffMerkley Senator - call Oregonians to action. Ask Portlanders to protest. To march. Those who have never marched would respond to an to authority figure calling them to action. Please!!
@davenewworld_2 My daughter wants Covid-19 to wipe out my generation of white bigots and entitled racists, watching this video makes me think she has a point. It’s time to pass the baton for sure. Neither side looks good here.
