Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all.
Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong.
The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.
Texas culture is not under any threat. It’s alive and well. Immigrants are barely like 15% of the Texas population.
This isn’t about “preservation”. This is just hate.
Most of the immigrants I meet in Texas assimilate within one generation.
But you don’t care about that do you? You care about their skin color.
I’m not South Asian. I made the distinction to show how few people in our state have ancestry from that part of the world.
East Asians and South Asians are the most successful people in America btw.
No ammount of racism is going to change the fact they outperform most of you idiots.
@BrutonRayford@TexasMonthly I just made this account since I normally don’t use twitter, how is follower count in anyway relevant to the point being made?
@PresbyGroyper@SergyZee@kangminlee The children of immigrants are American. Nearly every country in the western hemisphere has right of soil citizenship.
It’s only racists that hide behind fake profiles that have an issue with this.
