Hey @elonmusk, where is the 'government funded' tag for the #warroom also known as the @CDNEnergyCentre ? They are 100% funded and pose as journalists on a regular basis. #fairisfar#ableg#abvote
Abandoned oil wells directly impact farmers operations and yet we see no support from the #UCP to help them, meanwhile Danielle Smith is giving her insiders billions of dollars through RStar to do what they are already legally required to do. They are failing rural AB. #ableg
Look, changing the name of the Sovereignty Act won’t change the fact that this will be a disaster for our economy. Job creators & investors want certainty. Families want stability. An @albertaNDP government will bring both. Let’s end the #ucp chaos.

@allhazardscoach @sunrickbell You're asking the wrong question. You should be asking why the UCP would spend public money on families that make $200k a year. The answer is six months away.
@rpgdust@GallusRex@DavidStaplesYEG Wind & solar come from the ground? You lost me there. They need to be built - like everything man made - but avg lifespan is 20 years and they do not require a non renewable fuel like uranium, unlike nuclear. All things should be an option, but lets call a spade a spade.
@rpgdust@GallusRex@DavidStaplesYEG my point from the beginning was considering nuclear 'green' is a bit of a stretch. Call it 'blue', if you will. It still requires a fuel that is not infinite & comes from the ground. That is not truly renewable. Is it an option? yes. But there are better ones out there imo
@GallusRex@rpgdust@DavidStaplesYEG they shouldn't direct your views, but if we are talking about what are REALISTIC options for energy into the future, then we have to keep that in account. If you're just wishful thinking then yeah, nuclear is an option.
@GallusRex@rpgdust@DavidStaplesYEG I agree re baseload, but nuclear is way too complicated to get built in a timely fashion and popular opposition will be way too large for anyone to bother trying to invest in it, imo. Focus on Hydro, tidal, geothermal and LNG & CCS for baseload instead. Waaay simpler & realistic
@GallusRex@rpgdust@DavidStaplesYEG well if you think the decision of where the nuclear waste will be stored is going to be easy, think again. Any nuclear project would have to go through this agonizing process that would delay a project by possibly decades. You may not care, but your neighbours will.
@rpgdust@GallusRex@DavidStaplesYEG Solar is but one of many rapidly improving truly renewable options, nuclear is not. Of course it's theoretically possible to mine uranium in a 'green' fashion, but long term I just don't think there will be a big appetite for it. Why not just use LNG and CCS then? way easier.
@rpgdust@DavidStaplesYEG the difference is that to make nuclear work you have to provide fuel on an ongoing basis, like you would with coal plants. Solar, wind etc you have to have some pollution to build the infrastructure but there is no ongoing fuel requirement
