I am often surprised by the cleverness, and now and again by the stupidity, of my dog; and I have similar experiences with humankind. - Arthur Schopenhauer
@RBReich “Invest in them” with who’s money? Given the overall failures of our education system, what results do you think could be achieved? People simply expect more for minimal effort. They want government sponsored wealth redistribution. Our expectations are unrealistic.
@thereallagertha@HansMahncke The US Government does not have any money. It has a debt of $30 trillion that is growing every year. The growing debt is not sustainable unless you significantly increase taxes or significantly reduce spending.
@HansMahncke Both have money to feed the hungry and provide housing to the homeless on a short-term basis (? a week or a year). After a short time, there will be continued hunger and more homeless. They are not responsible for the problem or for solving it.
@RBReich One thing has nothing to do with the other! Why would you willingly create a union, or pay a higher salary/benefits than the labor market requires?
@D_Edward2041 @RBReich He is paying them a “true value” and they accepted the job offer. Where do you come up with $30/hr? You are talking about relatively low skilled jobs.
@lyl1958@FragmentedLove@KatieFromTexas How about just because of “celebrity worship” — and our general level of ignorance — then there is our drug culture and social media fixations — the 24-hour news circus — and back to Hollywood as our religion.
@DrOz It makes sense - Trump “appointed” you - Trump is no longer the president - the new administration wants to appoint their own person. What don’t you understand?
@bennyjohnson Trump has no facts - just all mouth! Political noise to inflame his otherwise ignorant base of supporters. Given his conduct/behavior, Trump is the criminal — Biden might be as well.
