Yeah, I know lots of fans are pissed, but the NBA Players Association reportedly drew a hard line and made it known that they were never going to allow Kawhi’s guaranteed max contract to be voided without dragging the league into thermonuclear federal arbitration.

By firing Dennis Robertson in June, Kawhi’s camp executed a textbook crisis-management play, serving Uncle Dennis up as the rogue scapegoat while Kawhi claimed plausible deniability.

Unfortunately, this message to the rest of the NBA is dangerous. If an illicit sidecar deal blows up, the franchise burns, but the superstar skates. ESPN dropped a bombshell report just recently claiming Steve Ballmer and the Clippers were essentially in the clear on direct cap circumvention.

Clippers Owner Ballmer repeatedly and publicly insisted he was just a naive investor who got conned by Aspiration's fraudster founder.

As it turns out the NBA's investigators found the paper trail proving Ballmer knew his $50 million check was a direct precondition for the startup paying Kawhi.

For the next 365 days, Ballmer is barred from attending Clippers games, entering the new Intuit Dome for team operations, participating in NBA Board of Governors meetings, or having any day-to-day communication with Clippers basketball or business executives.

Also, the NBA has stripped five unprotected first-round picks (2029 to 2033), handed down a $30 million fine, and banned Ballmer, Lawrence Frank, and Gillian Zucker for a year. This is the harshest franchise punishment in modern NBA history. It completely cripples their future. It's worse than the Joe Smith penalty that crippled Kevin Garnett’s Minnesota Timberwolves for a decade. 💀

You can't even set most gym treadmills to the speed this guy just broke the MILE world record at. They max out around 12 to 14 mph. Josh Kerr held 16.2 mph for the entire mile today: 3:42.66, breaking a record that had survived 27 years.

The pace on this new mile record is just wild.

It works out to 13.8 seconds per 100 meters. Go sprint 100m all-out right now. If you're slower than 13.8, Kerr was moving faster than your sprint, and he did it 16 times in a row without stopping.

In 1954, Roger Bannister ran the first four-minute mile, a barrier people once argued was the limit of human physiology. Put Bannister's race on the track next to Kerr's today, and Kerr finishes while Bannister is still 110 meters back, coming off the final bend.

The man who lost the record, Hicham El Guerrouj, set it in 1999 with no pace lights and no super spikes. Beating him took 27 years of shoe technology plus a four-month engineering project Kerr named after the goal time itself. The margin: 0.47 seconds.

And El Guerrouj isn't finished. His 1500m record, set the year before on the same track, turned 28 this week. Only three men since have even broken 3:27. One record fell today. The harder one is still standing.
