@RossHamiltonG Not sure if too many Angus bulls in ai are under 5% on dairy heifers either. A few under 5.5% if that any use. AA4743 at 5.1% might be a good shout.

@RossHamiltonG from progeny. If you decide to get rid you’ll get €2000 roughly. I’d consider the bull to be cheap now at €2500-4000.

@RossHamiltonG A good thread to read as both an Angus breeder and dairy farmer. Some interesting points. We are lucky enough to be in a position where we use some of our own angus bulls across dairy herd to see how they perform before being sold on. So i can’t comment for everyone as everyone

@RossHamiltonG has their own system that works fine for them. For talks sake just say a farmer sells 50 angus x dairy calves at a minimum of €100 each. That’s €5000 back from the bull that most would buy at somewhere between €2500-4000. If you keep the bull another year you’ll get more money

Super bull calf born this morning with a massive pedigree of Scottish champions and Highland Show Champions aswell as Te mania Emperor who sold for $91,000 in Australia!

@IanLazenby3 @ConorWhelan30 I wouldn’t be a massive fan of them but I get what you’re saying. I’ve had people come to look at my stock and like them, but not buy based on the stars, so I will have to improve them for future customers. A mix of both is the way to go I suppose
