When most people look at this photo, the'll notice the wood beams, the light fixtures or luxurious furniture. ⁠When I look, I see relationships and I feel the trust that everyone put in me to help bring this house to life. It was a privilege to be a part of this build. ⁠

Pulling decor ideas together on paper is a fun way to be sure they will feel good in your home. Sometimes I'm convinced certain elements will work and once I put them on a board, they just don't play nicely. Here are a few of the ideas I had for my own home, #ProjectWoodworth.

This home office highlights affordable style. It's been so useful for the 2 busy pros who have worked full-time from here for almost a year. The "save" options are drawer units and a countertop from IKEA and the "splurge" options are the wool area rug and leather sofa!

These clients had a dark Kitchen prior to this update and really wanted their home to feel lighter and more fresh. We opted to have the cabinets painted, replaced the light fixtures & lightened the counters. The result is a much brighter home and a much happier family!!⁠

Underestimating the number of decisions that need to be made when taking on a decorating project is partly why my industry is so busy and why so many clients become frustrated with the process. ⁠The most important element in this room is one you can't see; communication. ⁠

Artwork is one of the most subjective things included in people's homes. The fact that I even consider this artwork could be subject to great debate. I'm not debating this, but you can if you want! ⁠I liked and related to it so I hung it up! 2 reasons enough to call it art!

If you have the space, a mud room is one of the most useful rooms in a home. A dedicated spot for all of the bits and pieces required for day-to-day living is invaluable, and even better if it can all be neatly housed behind closed doors! ⁠

This is what "sticking to your vision" looks like. The Principal Bathroom at the #ModernFarmhouse is something to behold. The steam shower, subway tile, hex floor, black metal accents and warm oak, all work together for a truly luxurious bathroom.

One of my personal philosophies is that style is affordable. It doesn't mean that I think the decor in your house should be cheap. However, there may be a more affordable alternative to something really expensive. I always try my best to spend practically for my clients. ⁠

I'm not the first Decorator to say I find inspiration everywhere. These doorways in Venice definitely took me by surprise. Even though they are right next to each other, they are unique. The client bold enough to love different, is my kind of client and one I'm inspired by.

It's no surprise that these photos are from the same house! Each of these rooms "speak" to each other, which we accomplished by repeating colours and decorative finishes. Getting this kind of mix right is why this home feels finished and luxurious.

I always find it difficult to answer questions about whether or not a specific decorating element is still "in". A good example of this is the ever divisive wallpaper! I happen to love it for it's ability to add texture, colour and life to a room. If you love it, go for it!!

This Guest Room feels like a luxury hotel. The sconces and the wall-hung side tables are brilliant space savers as this room is quite small. It has everything you'd need for a restful night in a beautiful home!

In 27 days, I will be living in my new house! We bought the old house, which we have renovated, added on to and totally transformed 1.5 years ago, way back in February 2019. I am thrilled with the progress and can't wait to show you some updated photos of #ProjectWoodworth!
