@MJMcKean Just for context, this picture is actually from January of 1967 when Hendrix opened up for The Who at London's Saville Theatre, a venue Brian Epstein owned and produced events at. Even though Monterey was only five months later, none of these guys looked like this by then.
"He deserves a great amount of credit for the extensive amount of credit for the extensive amount of time and energy he has put into solving this war" -- Leavitt wants to give Trump a participation award for trying to end Russia's war on Ukraine
@Super70sSports The concert shown here - Bachman-Turner Overdrive at the Pacific Coliseum in their hometown of Vancouver, 50 years ago this week. Opening acts Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band and The Charlie Daniels Band. https://t.co/leioEkVv1s
@Super70sSports All he ever needed to do to be allowed in the Hall of Fame was to come clean. Once. He had decades to do that and instead did everything he could to piss off baseball. Oh, and in doing that greatly contributed to the MLB commissioner's death. So yeah, I'm on the fence about it.
@AndyFontana1 @sekeresandprice Agreed on the Russians. Just for context though, Beardsley was with Carlisle in the English 3rd Division when the Whitecaps signed him.
@MarthaKehoe1
Just wanted to pass along my congrats on how great the Lightfoot doc is. Favourite parts are the juxtaposition from Washington Square Park from now to then, and the use of "he takes a rusty sword into his hands" when he's passed the guitar, and the last 6 minutes.
@paulapoundstone@BillieJeanKing CORRECT! Not sure if you're aware, but she's one of the driving forces behind the PWHL, the Professional Women's Hockey League, now in it's 2nd season and doing fantastic. The top women's players from around the globe on six teams with countless cities clamouring for a franchise!
@Super70sSports Keeping in mind Wilt Chamberlain used to do this for foul shots. Then the NBA outlawed it in 1956 with "The Chamberlain Rule" stating all foul shooters now needed to stay behind the foul line.
@paulapoundstone Hey Paula, I was looking at your dates and just noticed a bunch of new dates in May! But darn it anyway, one of them is May 17th in Chicago. I mean that's great, but I'm gonna be in your neck of the woods for a couple of hours on the 18th and was hoping to catch up. Ah well.
