Comment: The Planning and Development Bill 2023 is set to pass tomorrow. It’s a disaster for the climate and is something of an emblem of the state’s increasing attempts to sign away the country to further global exploitation.

Regrettably, the State's Hen Harrier Threat Response Plan, which was launched this morning, is a failed opportunity to put in place the measures urgently needed to prevent the extinction of this iconic bird of prey species in Ireland: https://t.co/U9ia6j5T6t
State agencies like @IrishWater@opwireland@coilltenews@ESBNetworks @BordnaMona are all driving the extinction crisis @EamonRyan. There must be accountability and sanctions, not just letters asking them to improve.

Wind energy generating just 15MW at 8am today. System Demand = 4800MW. And electricity prices set to rise from september to susidise renewables according to @CWeston_Indo . Time to end this #green madness.
This is an ecological disaster and a massive setback for hard work done on this river to protect water. If it is proven that @IrishWater are responsible for this they must receive a massive fine and any costs for rehabilitation

For years now @BordnaMona have been pumping vast quantities of water off these important wetlands. Neither @EPAIreland nor @EamonRyan seem willing to step in to make it stop, even though they could.

Our Hen Harrier is in real trouble and the measures to protect it need an urgent shakeup.
In the last 8 years alone the nat' pop'n has plummeted by a third! At this rate it could be extinct in 25 years.

As one of the best studied bird species in Ireland, the demise of the Hen Harrier is no mystery. We know what to do to save them from extinction.

As requested, here is a magical trio of:
Drumming snipe and crexing Corncrake, complimented by the beautiful melodies of several skylark. I lay down in the twilight and thought about how lucky I was to be there alone listening to this. It was cold, but calm and just so pure.
Hi everyone! Thanks again for the support and kind messages.
I'm *very* excited to let you know that a new TV documentary about my work will be out shortly - announcement coming January 22nd. 🥳🥳

Ministers @EamonRyan & @noonan_malcolm, we have sent yet another email to you requesting a meeting in relation to ongoing intensive pumping of bogs here which has proven to result in extensive habitat loss of species of conservation. We trust our request will be facilitated.
The state has utterly failed to protect our fabulous biodiversity including the Freshwater Pearl Mussel & it's astonishing life cycle. In 1980s, there were 5,000 adult mussels in the Nore, 500 in 2006, now 100. https://t.co/uZN97LJLRf
Seems our fears were unwarranted. Cuach Cores has left Spain 🇪🇸 yesterday and crossed the Mediterranean to Algeria 🇩🇿 . He then passed to the east of the Air Mountains of northern Niger🇳🇪 and is just 325km from Nigeria 🇳🇬. Woohoo! @KerryBirdNews@NPWSIreland@_BTO@BirdWatchIE
